Very likely Brian will be taking up residence in Tampa. After his father's interview yesterday, which went very well, I am not shocked by this development.

Except coming out Leinart had 39 starts. Nobody would've questioned him coming out as a junior. Sanchez had only 16 starts, he should've stayed for his senior year.

I think they should bring in some competition to push Sanchez....I think the Jets staff seem to kiss his ass a bit (hard knocks). I would like to see what Parcells could have gotten out of Sanchez.

              I was referencing the article.

"Carroll may have had valid concerns in his own mind -- after all, he had seen quarterbacks Carson Palmer(notes), Matt Leinart(notes), and John David Booty(notes) return for their senior campaigns "

                    1. I was actually born instead of grown in a lab contrary to popular belief..

                    and

                    2. the articles popping up about jets players saying sanchez is lazy and not as good he was once thought to be by the team.

I think if Sanchez doesn't have a decent season next year, he's got to go. I have hope that he is the QB the Jets need, but he's gotta work his ass off, especially with a new offense coming in. Learn the plays ASAP, work in passing drills, get your fucking accuracy together. He can't just bullshit around, this season was a wakeup call that he is not a player that can just waltz into the season without working. He needs constant work.

                        Or

                        Jets players want Peyton

UPDATE: In looking back over the appraisal of the New York Jets compiled by ESPNNewYork.com's Rich Cimini following the season, it's no wonder that some players in the lcoker room would prefer Peyton Manning over Mark Sanchez. (Find Cimini's thoughts at the bottom of the post).

                        ---

Floating amidst a sea of speculation on Indianapolis Colts franchise quarterback Peyton Manning in recent weeks has been the idea that should No. 18 somehow become available -- either in trade or free agency -- the Jets would be amongst the teams interested in acquiring him. Our own Chris Mortenson floated back in October the idea that Manning could land in New York with Jets. That idea seems to have taken hold in certain parts of the Jets locker room.

In conversations with multiple Jets, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News learned that some players would welcome a change from Mark Sanchez to one of the league's all-time greats.

"Come on. That's a no-brainer," one Jets source said. "If you have a chance to get a healthy 36-year-old Peyton Manning and you don't do it, then you're stupid. If I could get a healthy 36-year-old Peyton Manning, then, hell yeah, I would trade Sanchez."

The Jets employed Manning's former offensive coordinator, Tom Moore, as a consultant this past season, and there's thought that this could be a reason why Peyton would want to come to New York.

"We already have his coach -- Tom Moore," one player noted. "Plus, he's a field general and will get everyone lined up. He will get his playmakers the ball. We can win a Super Bowl with Peyton."

It remains to be seen whether Manning actually becomes available, and if so, whether Jets management is willing to invest the necessary capital in order to acquire him. But it would appear that Manning would certainly be welcomed in certain sections of the locker room.

After seeing this report, one trusted source has told Rumor Central that the Manning-to-Jets idea "doesn't seem so crazy now."

Yes, because the excellent careers of Matt Leinart and John David Booty show that.

Hey I'm saying that I think more often not more starts helps and I don't think a season and some spot starts in for booty is enough. Leinart with his 39 starts I think he had enough to come out a year earlier. I'm not a fan of going after QB's after 1 full season as a starter.
