Is Fitzpatrick "the answer" in Buffalo?

Obviously due to that ill-advised contract, Fitzpatrick is going to have to try his hardest to be that player, but do you all think he is the answer for the Bills? He finished with a slightly lower QB rating than in 2010, and he threw for nearly as many picks (23) as TDs (24) this season.

Or, you can answer this question another way, is Game 1-8 Fitzpatrick outside of the norm, or something we could expect to see from him in the future?

Of course not. Buffalo could actually cut him, and not owe him anything. Not sure when that deadline is though.

I don't see him being their franchise QB but he is playing at a level right now that is deserving of a current starting job in the NFL right now.

definitely not the answer. Someone needs to feed that Stevie Johnson kid the ball.

          The answer to what?

Is he ever going to win a Super Bowl or be a top 10 QB? Doubtful.

But he is starter worthy and probably a top 15 QB. I also think they do need more weapons. Stevie Johnson is good but other than that they don't really have many receiving weapons.

Scott Chandler, David Nelson, Shawn Nelson, Donald Jones, yeah I don't think I need to say much else.

I ranked all 32 starting quarterbacks the other night and he came it at #16 if i remember correctly.. He deserves a starting job but I won't hold my breath on him winning the superbowl, or like tailback said, becoming a top 10 quarterback.

Not the answer, but Gailey is stubborn and gonna hold on to this dream. I suspect he believes he can plug in any system QB and win. Fitzpatrick a good guy and obviously smart, but he's not a $59M quarterback.
All that said, the Bills have so many holes to fill.

A quarterback who led his team to seemingly unexpected wins, gets a huge contract extension and proceeds to forget how to win games? Is this Ryan Fitzpatrick we're talking about, or David Garrard?

On their big start at 5-2, Fitz threw 14 TDs to 7 INTs. After that, for a 1-8 finish, he throws 10 TDs to 16 INTs. What happened at that midway point for him? Big contract...

The defense was pretty bad all year too...very opportunistic in the fast start, with 18 takeaways in the first 7 games, 12 in the final 9. The defense couldn't stop anyone all season, save for a couple blowouts. All other games were close, and combining the offense turning the ball over and the defense unable to keep up, you get the huge slide the Bills had the last half of the season.

If Fitzpatrick can figure out how to stop throwing the ball away, the Bills could be good.

He could be the answer if quarterback play was their only problem.
