So Kyle Murphy and Peat both to Stanford. Those are some nice building blocks to a good offensive line.

Florida's class is excellent overall, but the Gators failed to close strong, as UF lost out on linebacker Josh Harvey-Clemons, offensive tackle Avery Young, defensive end Leonard Williams and receiver Nelson Agholor. Players who commit on signing day aren't better than those who commit on any other day, but signing day is a way to build momentum and excitement for a program. The Gators did not do that today.

Auburn started quite slow and were on the verge of having a disappointing day, but picked up the pace, signing receiver Ricardo Louis and offensive tackle Avery Young.

The winner of the "team that made the top ten because it took a ridiculous amount of players" award is Miami, with an amazing 33 commitments. Still, Al Golden brought in several quality players and has a plan for The U.

There is some serious disagreement in some of the rankings, as Scout, the clear oddball, chooses to focus more on quantity than quality. This is nothing new, however.
Rankings really don't work like that, as rivals and scout (not sure of 247) only rate the top X recruits (no more than 25).

Miami's class includes 26 (!!!) from the State of Florida and 15 from Dade/Broward/Palm Beach. That's impressive. Other than that, Miami basically cherry picked...QB from Texas, 3 players from Georgia, camp kid from PA, JUCO kid from Alabama, DT from Louisiana.

Basically, stayed in the south east.

If you're Miami, you don't have to recruit much more than that.

Also, kudos to Golden and the staff that were in it, to win it, with a lot of kids down the stretch...Hamilton, JHC, Ed Goldman, Leonard Williams, Avery Young, Reggie Northrup, etc. and despite some late drama with a few (Northrup, Young, Hamilton) had backup plans for everyone...

        Northrup bolts...gets Blue.
Scholly opens up...miss out on the other tackles...gets Dequan Ivery.

And lands a big fish in local boy Tracy Howard.

Was a good class for Miami.

Lets hope the evaluations are on the money and these kids work hard and play up to their potential.

Yea, no doubt.. any one at VSD could run between those two

          @LiquidLarry

I think you need to read, I think they know the rankings don't work like that..

Miami had to grab a lot of players, debacle of Randy and a lot of attrition through the last 2 years.

Murphy, Peat to go with Josh Garnett, Graham Shuler. Big time OL class for Stanford. Also got some Barry Sanders Jr., Noor Davis, and some big defensive linemen like Aziz Shittu, Jordan Watkins, Luke Kaumatule...

That's how you build an offensive and defensive line through recruiting.

Davonte Neal apparently tried to commit to OSU but couldn't... not sure what to make of it here.

Has to mean good things on the Diggs front.

Fuck recruiting rankings. Texas has pulled in top 5 classes for years and it doesn't really amount to much. Save the talk about 10+ win seasons.

but they rank the class NOT what they will bring to the University. Just like the draft, a kid could be a bust, injured, have all the talent but not coached to potential. I enjoy watching it and looking online for news on SD but I also know that after today, the kids need to prove it on the field. That doesn't diminish today as a day that is used for exciting College Football fans.
