True, in the end its another resource that they'd be stupid not to use.

Pretty sure he did say that: "That makes for good reading, and we certainly love those guys' profession. But at the end of the day, it doesn't matter who it is — Sports Illustrated, Rivals, Scout, whomever. They're not going to determine who we should offer."

Sure they factor that in, but it doesn't dictate who they offer (unlike, say, Texas until a year or two ago).

Mo Claiborne was a 2-star athlete until he got an offer from LSU. Then he got a bump up to a 3. Tyrann Mathieu was barely a 3-star. One is a top 5 pick and the other a Heisman finalist. A lot of times Rivals just evaluates kids based on their lists if they can't actually scout the player in person. And if LSU uncovers a diamond in the rough in-state, they aren't exactly in a hurry to alert the national recruiting services about it.

Love it. If you change your mind because mah dukes starts crying when you're packing up the truck, YOU DO NOT HAVE THE CHEST TO LEAD A PROGRAM.

The Momma Kiel stuff ended up not being true.

From everything I've seen, read, or heard Kiel made a knee jerk commit right after visiting LSU and started waffling almost immedietly after returning home. Kiel never wantd to really move away from home anyways. That's what made the LSU commit so odd and out of nowhere to begin with.

meh. Whatever. I don't think Greenberry "didn't have the chest" to play at Notre Dame. Kid wanted to go somewhere else.

                      Whatever.

I hate when coaches do this shit.

Brian Kelly alledgely ethered a kid yesterday(Greenberry) saying of his choice to go to Houston that he'd "rather play 4 games against him than 4 years with him."

Bullshit move by either coach(if it's true in Kelly's case)

I agree. I hate when fans say that shit too.

Anyway, Miles was pandering to the fans at the recruiting party (like when he said we were gonna kick Alabama's ass or whatever he said a few years ago at the same event) and get an applause, but if he had to do it again he'd probably avoid singling a kid out.

Maybe something more general like "we lost a few kids who did not want to be here. We only want those who want to be here, blah blah blah."

I don't support blasting an individual kid like this, but I still think the phrasing of it was hilarious and worthy of many jokes.

Kelly was saying all that stuff too..then kind of dropped the bomb. I haven't watched the presser yet so I can't say for sure he did as ESPN and some otehr places aren;t reporting it while some really small papers have gotten a hold of it and are citing UND.com as being the source.

Niggas in the Big10 already catchin feelings

Coach Bret Bielema said he hopes Big Ten recruiting doesn’t change with the addition of Ohio State coach Urban Meyer. “I think the potential for change is there,” Bielema said. “There are a few things that happened early on that I made people aware of that I didn’t want to see in this league, that I had seen take place in other leagues -- other recruiting tactics [and] other recruiting practices that are illegal.”
Ohio State's class features nine players that were originally committed elsewhere

                              4 Penn State
                              2 Notre Dame
                              1 Wisconsin
                              1 Miami
                              1 Michigan State

Mark Dantonio as well Rudi, called Meyer flipping Se'Von Pittman 'unethical'.

Which is hilarious because Dantonio was trying to flip OSU's Tyvis Powell, and was still in on Dodson's recruitment despite the fact that Dodson had verballed to Wisconsin.
