LOL, at people blaming Manning for the attention he's recieved this week when he's one of the all-time greats that missed the entire season, had questions of his health going forward, at a Super Bowl in Indy, which is a place he built, where his brother and rival are about to play. Yep, blame Manning.

Gosh, what a selfish prick. He missed the entire season to generate buzz, then he helps host the Super Bowl as a gracious ambassador for the league, all just so he could steal the spotlight from his younger brother, who he obviously hates based on everything we've seen.
Irsay tweeted that Manning has not yet received medical clearance from the Colts and their doctors.
This is exactly what I'm talking about. You can't believe anyone. Diivox has a point, I won't really believe Manning is good to go until he starts at least practicing and is ready to play week 1.
Peyton Manning is willing to create a contract that would contain no guaranteed money up front and would be incentive laden with bonuses.
Is Manning allowed to do that under the new terms of the CBA? I had asked that question earlier and it was shot down as being impossible. It just seemed logical to me if Manning really wants to stay in Indy and have a shot of being under center as the starter come this fall.

Why would it be against the CBA so long as they guaranteed him the league minimum for a veteran QB of his age/experience so long as he was on the roster week 1?

Mort said a few weeks back that the Colts have no way out of the 28mil bonus (if they want to keep him) but he can re-work some things after that under the current CBA.
I'd imagine he can work whatever deal he wants on the open market.

That $28M is a lot to get around considering they gave him $20M a few months back and got nothing in return. Even if he played for league minimum at a veteran with his number of years, that contract would still average out to be one of the top 5 in the league. If they can't get around that $28M bonus, then I just don't see how the Colts can keep him.
