It is confirmed here in Baltimore that we have resigned him for 3 YRs 20 mil+.It is also being reported here that we have signed C Matt Birk.

*EDIT*Ravens agreed to terms with C Matt Birk on a two-year, $9 million contract. The deal includes $6 million guaranteed.

He wasnt gonna leave. If he had any real intention of going elsewhere Dal or Bal would have signed him right away. He was positioning for more money.

I knew the Ravens would re-sign him.But I was hoping that he would join another team in the NFL

Lulz.....like Ray Lewis had a fucking choice. Dallas didn't want him, nor did the Broncos, as was rumored. His only chance came when he tried to extort a shitload out of the NY Jets and they told him to go get bent and signed Bart Scott instead.

Ray made out like a bandit though, $17 million guaranteed for a 36 year old ILB on the decline. No doubt some of that payment is considered "marketing" money in the Ravens eyes. His play doesn't warrant a guarantee of $5.67 million a season.

Signing Matt Birk > signing Ray Lewis

                IMO...

Ray may be declining but he's still got enough left in him. Good signing and I wanted him to stay with the Ravens.

It's always weird to see players go off to new teams after watching them play for a city for a least three years...

                        But Uncle Ray Ray?

If he had left the city, it would've further solidified that shit is changing in BMore.

Really it'd be Ed Reed and a team of scrubs (barring any DTs I have no knowledge of) on defense now that Scott's gone and Ray potentially leaving.

lol, I saw this on the ticker on ESPN News last night. The ticker read, Ray Lewis signs 3 year deal worth 7 million per year. But I thought it said, 3 year 7 million total. Which caused me to go into a bloody rage.
