Who Will Be The First Pick of This Year's Draft?

Aaron Curry is my pick. The way he's been presenting himself in the combine and other workouts has been great. Safest pick out there in my opinion.

If I were the Lions, I'd trade the pick for some players to add depth/fill in gaps on my team as needed... a veteran QB that's slightly better than Dante Culpepper, a decent DT or two; the sky's the limit.

But since Stafford is supposedly the guy who actually wants to go to Detroit, I'd say let him go and ruin his pro football career.

I would be stunned if it wasn't Stafford. The Lions are almost forced to take him.

0-16=nothing next year, what i mean is the team gave up on a horrible coach, if Stafford goes to them he will have a great career, i think every QB in the league would love to throw to Megatron, really name one who wouldnt, he is the best WR in the league right now, or at least top 3-5. With Millen gone i see the Lions really gaining ground this year and prob a 7 win season, Megatron is just practically unstoppable.

I think it will be Stafford but it really should be Aaron Curry.

Lets face it, the Lions have struck out enough. They need to go with a safe pick.

The lions are dumb as hell if they take a QB #1... your QB can have all the potential in the world to succeed but if he is not protected he WILL NOT...

Actually how many QBs are good with horrible lines? Kurt Warner? maybe acouple more... Now lets turn it around how many good-decent QBs are what they are because of their line?

If you look at it simply like that the lions would be insane to take a QB with their current problems on the line... Take a OL @ #1 if Freeman is gone @ 20 then sign a vet QB and take a OL/D @ 20... I believe even with peyton manning at QB in detroit last year the lions are what? a 3 win team at most?

A good line makes a qb... look at Flacco...

CJ cant catch a pass if the QB is on the ground, also... a QB @ #1 this year is a "millen" decision... Millen is the guy always looking for the next superstar at a skill position... And honestly even with CJ if you only have one good WR then you double him... all game... that's why fitzgerald and boldin are so successful, if you double one the other takes advantage... IF you double marvin harrison... Reggie wayne takes advantage... you need a solid #2 WR...

And no way you can call CJ the best WR in the league, maybe on Madden he would be to play with... He has the most potential of all the WRs in the league probably he has shown he can be great even on such a bad team... But no way he is currently the best WR in the league...

And do you know what Millen even did? because from the sounds of it you must think he was an old evil crusty dude was trying to sabotage the team on purpose... you right he was a horrible GM but building a team takes more then one offseason, next season they lions even if they have an awesome draft class they will be fielding a shit ton of rookies then... 5 wins next season would be a success... 7 would be phenomenal...

                    Crabtree.

Seriously, Stafford would be a very expensive gamble. They should focus on building an O-line and since they won't get too many wins this season, they can draft a QB next year since the QBs available next year can hardly be worst than this year's class.

They should go OT, simply because their other big need (DB/DL) aren't worth the #1 pick. LB is a need, as well, but I don't see it as big as OL or DL/DB.

As a Lions fan, I want them to get Justin Smith and then Vontae Davis/Rey Ma'aluga later in the first, but since we're the Lions, we'll get Stafford and Laurinitis and both will bust.

It'll be either Smith or Stafford. I am leaning toward Stafford though.
