Yeah, it'll be either the Packers or the Steelers, with the Packers the favorite. Should make for a good game.

We don't want less football, you dolt. It's still the same amount of games either way.

We'd prefer to see less dilution of football though, yes. But hey if over saturation is your thing ...

Will be plenty of games on Sunday. You watch every game at the same time?

I don't care when they play as long as they play and I get to watch it. Also fuck Time Warner Cable and their lack of NFL Network.

You want less football that you can WATCH. You prefer all games be on sunday, instead of spread out so you can watch more of the games.

Arent you a baseball fan? I bet you watch lame ass baseball every day, yet you cant handle football more than once a week.

              GTFO.

All I know is come Tuesday September 4th when most of you are having a shitty day at school or work you'll say, "damn it's kinda nice to have football on a Wednesday for once."

Baseball games also do a fraction of the television ratings that NFL game do.

Think you can figure out why?

Look, moving this game to Wednesday is not a big deal, but the idea that over saturation is something that the NFL should not be worried about is misguided. A very large part of the NFL's appeal is that it's a one game per week event that people plan their weeks around in the fall. Your team only plays 16 games, and each game is a mini event that gets hyped up for an entire week.

The slow, creeping, expansion of the non Sunday schedule has not slowed down the NFL monster to this point, but there will be a breaking point.

This year, there will essentially be games every Thursday, Sunday, and Monday. In December, you can add Saturday. I'm telling you right now, and you can argue all you want, but within the next few years you will see a Wednesday package added. The NFL moves numbers, and they probably think they can sell another night.

If they keep expanding, interest will go down. This isn't rocket science, it's simple supply/demand. They will reach the peak of the demand at some point, and interest will decline. Plus, the NFL does not have enough marquee games in a given week to spread across three or four days and serve multipe (networks) masters. I see posts like the above, MOAR NFL, but then everybody turns around and bitches when a national TV game isn't two really good teams facing each other. Don't act like people will eat anything the NFL serves, because most of you are phonies who won't watch two 3-8 teams in November.

Goodell needs to slow his roll. Things are good for now, but too much of anything results in over saturation.

I highly doubt the NFL is going to decline anytime soon, so many of you are worrying about a bunch of nothing. In the meantime enjoy watching football whenever they offer it, because I and everyone else know's you'll be watching. For the NFL to take a step back something will have to fill that void and no other league has the widespread support the NFL has.

Even though I don't like it, right now I don't see a huge problem because there's still only one game on non Sundays. As a whole it becomes more saturated, but at least for that particular Thursday or in this case Wednesday the entire focus of the league is on one game.

I'd like to think they wouldn't go as far as to have multiple games on random Thursdays.

Over saturation. Its still the same amount of games per season (16) no matter what. Over saturation would be the 18 game schedule. Simply televising more regular season games doesnt over saturate the NFL and regardless of what you, I or anyone else may think there are tons of people that tune in to these marginal match ups no matter what, ratings dont lie.

That said the NFL needs to rethink its way of selecting late season games and scrap the predetermined shit, a simple injury (Manning anyone) can cause some disinterest in a team. They need to have shit like fan night, much like NBATV, that allows the fans to pick from X amount of games in advance. In this case a choice from 3 games, 2 weeks in advance would be perfect. You vote on NFL.com and you get your Thursday night game 2 weeks later. If they did this for the last 4 weeks of so it would remedy some of these bad match ups. That or they simply select the best game available regarding playoff berths a few weeks in advance.

You do know this is the sports forum, no? You dont know shit about shit regarding sports graham cracker. Over saturation is an 82 or a 162 game season not showing as many games as possible in a 16 game season where every game counts.

OK, but we are not at that point yet, so theres no need to start worrying about it.

Plus, even if NFL interest were to go down with more games, the diehard fans should still be interested in the extra games per week, i know i would be.
