    Looking like Notre Dame will have to join a conference

    LOS ANGELES - Leaders of the Pac-12 Conference agreed in principle Saturday to try to end college football's Bowl Championship Series, proposing its replacement with a playoff system that would allow only conference winners to play for college football's national title.

    Which is the only conference that will allow ND to have its own network? The Big12.

    It's a worthwhile idea. I want to see the Big XII return to 12 teams, and the addition of Notre Dame would put us just one school away.

        I'd like to see Clemson, FSU, Miami & ND take the Big12 to the Big14. Regardless, the age of independents in football is over.

            I don't get it. I'm psyched that they finally want a playoff, but why do they want such a shitty version of it?

            Give me 32 teams in a big bracket and let's settle this over 5 weeks.

                  Too many games for student athletes & it makes the regular season less important.

                  Best solution:
                  * 6 conferences of 16 teams (so 96 teams total)
                  * The 6 conference winners go to the playoffs
                  * The top 2 ranked conf winners get a 1st round bye. 3 hosts 6 and 4 hosts 5.
                  * Next week, reseed and lowest winner goes to 1, highest winner goes to 2.
                  * 2 teams that win the semifinals play on a neutral field for the title

                    I'd be happy if teams won their division first. I'm very happy that they only want conference champions.

                      I strongly disagree with everything you've said. If FCS can do it, so can FBS. If CBB can do it, so can the FBS.

                      Give me 32 teams. Take all the conference winners, plus a number of at-large teams chosen by a committee and let's fucking rock for 5 weeks of FBS Football. Cut the regular season down to 10 games if you have to. We need this kind of tourney.

                        Its a start.. and thats all that matters. Expanding a playoff wont be as big a deal as starting one.

                          Ya, we all want the great college basketball regular season. Remind Washington, who won the regular season PAC-12 title this year, just how sweet and important the college basketball regular season is.

                            How many games are in the CBB regular season again? Nice try, but 10 games would still be pretty fucking important.
