They already have there show money, a set win amount, so why do they need 'bonus' money for trying to break limbs and land extra shots?

Aside from the health of the players issue, the NFL wasn't happy b/c the bounty program violated the CBA. Ironically, there would not have been an issue had the Saints/Payton/Loomis/etc. did as they were told and then honored their word. If the Saints scrap the program when the NFL first tells them to, nobody probably knows about it and the Saints go about their merry way.

my point is that the rule is pointless and should not exist. every team promotes killing the QB and taking out other players. As long as players are not break the rules of the game in their efforts to take out other players, then i dont see this as a problem...because every team does this

Once you start offering guys money under the table to injure players (even going so far as having outside sources supply money including at least one ex con), that's the problem.
