I guess we can argue whether all teams are actively trying to injure guys until MM resurrects tho.
i was never disputing that empire. what i said was as long as the hits they used were not against the rules.

if you would have read my original post you would have seen this already and avoided this pointless circle to get back to nowhere.

Just to review: You think making bounty programs illegal is a stupid rule and shouldn't exist.

        I'm being the douche?

Go bitch about TGS more or something.

If you can't grasp how players can be hurt on legal hit that may not have to be taken in order to play the game...I don't know what else to say.

If I hit a guy hard to hit him hard and make the needed play that's one thing. It's another thing all together if I'm launching myself at Kurt Warner, driving Favre into the ground etc when it's not neccessary simply to get a $10k check from a pot. If you can't see the moral/ethical/fair play issue in that then there is nothing more to dicuss...except your continued idiocy.

No, that will be all for today. I just hope this stiff penalty ends bounty programs once and for all, so we can watch these guys bludgeon each other for 20+ weeks knowing there is no motivation to do so other than win NFL games and entertain us NFL fans.

          God Bless America.
Teams/players have a way of policing themselves. You also have a small group of guys who have played football together their entire lives. They might have played together in college, many of them went to the same summer camps. Then these same guys play with and against each other in the NFL for a number of years. You have a certain level of respect for your fellow NFL player, and if you make a dirty play against someone, odds are there is going to be retribution.

The idiots in this thread make it seem as if every game is a bloodbath, and every player is trying to injure every other player on every single play. Have any of you played football before? Seriously.

At the end of the day over reacting will be the norm ,accelerating money making "player safety" rules , and further watering down the product.

I know full well Saints bounty led to questionable hits. I don't understand the need for a YT video or "proof" when common sense and human psychology would tell you all you need to know. Even if a saint never committed a penalty the premise that there was an outside the usual means of pay incentive to injure is all that matters. Nothing wrong with asking for proof or facts before passing judgement but asking for a video or proof with everything thats come out is missing the point.
Do you need documented papers that ESPN highlights have led to a culture of D.Lineman digging graves and flexing muscles on routine tackles ? Or do you just realize the incentive of being on tv is enough to make a borderline guy act like a total retard for a stupid reward ? You think that same guy wont aim to land hard on a shoulder for 20 K ?

Listen Im the first in line for RAAWWRR FOOTBALL LET EM GET HIT!!!! FUCK DA RUL3Z.
Making every other hit illegal AND allowing bounties will only result in players finding oddball ways to injure a guy. Some rookie FA in the preseason could make a name for himself and an extra 10 k for diving at a knee or yanking an arm of a QB mid motion. Then you have "Manning out for season , Wheres Tebow" headline and 438975894230 new rules to make sure that doesnt happen again.
Best reason to have a license.

how is FT a mod? yesterday i was the quick regester name and noticed FT got banned by Killgod...at the time i wondered why....but now it all makes sense.

you are just not a smart person and argue points without reading or even comprehending the point of others.

so one more time for the retard sections

I still dont believe the bounty made the Saints players wanna injure opponents any more than any other team.

The bounty was just a reward for good hits that result in injury. Its not like they were going out of their way to collect the bounty.

Its extremely stupid to risk a hefty fine in order to earn a measly bounty that is chump change to most players, AND also risk a flag which hurts the team. No matter how stupid W2B says football players are, they arent that stupid.

If injuring opponents is as easy as senser says, Saints opponents woulda been carted off every game.

                        Seriously?

The block that nearly took off Warner's head wasn't "illegal". Some of those monster hits on Favre weren't even flagged at the time...or fined later.

They were "killshot" legal hits that DIDN'T need to occur.

apparently you have not sensor. they teach this type of behavior in HS. shit i remember as far back as 12 years old playing for the city leagues being told to clean his clock....kill the QB....destroy him

it got more intense as the years went on. i never played anything beyond college, but i know dam well the pros are even more intense about this.

most players are not studs....that means they need to do everything in their power to make it. if that means creaming the oppositions star player so he is carted off the field, then so be it.

its sad that you guys are the ones with a rep for being so knowledgeable about sports, but the fact is you are really just a bunch of arm chair QB's who dont know shit....wow

Really??? You STILL don't believe the bounty had any effect on the Saints? Really??? STILL???

Well then, I guess we should all re-think our positions on this matter.

Edit: I am amazed at two things. First, your whining for examples of legal, dirty hits, and then disregarding the specific examples when given...yet we are supposed to believe that you have some insight into the brains of the Saints defenders and take your asinine statements at face value. Kind of a double standard, no? One person gives concrete evidence and examples, yet its overridden by your alleged omnipotence of the human mind? Second, the whole disregard to logic with the bounty....if it had no effect on the players, why bother having bounties?
