Ah, you quit to run. Your stance in this thread makes sense now. Senior year of football was the best year. Congrats on making it three shitty years only to quit to run.

Only if you weren't good enough to play freshman through Junior year. My Junior year was my favorite, and my best season.

The Saints also had specific language laid out in these bounties that specified cash pay outs for "cart offs". If you don't have a problem with that, then you are sub human.

And again, yes, I think players are extra motivated to play differently when bounties are on the table. OTHERWISE BOUNTIES WOULD NOT EXIST. Are you seriously this dense?

Here's another analogy you won't understand, since you think NFL players are trained killers trying to kill each other anyway. Companies give out sales bonuses to employees to add extra motivation to increase sales. Of course, these employees are already trying to make sales, very hard in fact, but the bonus system gives them extra incentive to try harder.

In the case of the Saints, you have coaches giving players money to try harder to injure people. TO TRY HARDER TO INJURE PEOPLE. CART OFFS. How is this not registering with you? Of course liberties will be taken if money is on the table. It doesnt matter if the hits are clean, dirty, flagged, unflagged. Do you really not see the morality, sociological, and decency issues here? Drop this macho act of NFL FOOTBALL TOUGH GUY RAWR for a second.

It doesnt even matter if a single player on the Saints even went the extra mile to attempt to injure somebody, although anybody with a functioning brain who has a semblance of common sense knows that they did. Once a bounty is in place, that's it, you lose all benefit of the doubt, and it has to be assumed that they were blood hunting.

Of course, this is how it played out in your mind:

Vilma: "Here is $10 grand to take out Favre. Must be cart off. Injure that honky."

Player: "Hey that's cool! Since i'm sub human and actively trying to injure people every snap, i'll take that money if the injury happens completely organically and within the rules with a nice clean hit! I won't try any harder to injure the man, because as you know, i'm already trying my hardest to hurt people!"

Player #2: "Hmm, I dont know Jonathon. $10,000 isnt very much money. Didn't you know that we are all millionaires? Every. One. Of. Us. Plus, ROger Goodell will fine me more than $10k if my hit is dirty. Sorry friend, this simply does not motivate me."

Vilma & Gregg Williams: "Looks like bounties don't work. These trained assassins just aren't buying it. LETS KEEP OFFERING THEM FOR THREE MORE YEARS AND IGNORE THE LEAGUE WHEN THEY TELL US TO STOP, EVEN THOUGH THEY DONT WORK."

Why don't those of you who think the bounties are overblown, just admit that you enjoy violence, think the bounties are cool, and move on?

It's a better stance than claiming the bounties have no effect on play, which makes you look completely retarded.

I played those years, but freshman and jv are pretty pointless years. Junior year, most of the Seniors were douchebags, so Senior year was most fun to me. I suppose it's subjective. Also probably depends on how good your team was any given year.

Way to sum up that you totally don't understand anyone's point on the other side.

                  Football isn't violent?

And there are not non-bountied players on every team who aren't trying to injure someone every game?

You are retarded if you can't grasp that.

I enjoy violence but I don't think bounties are cool, where does that leave me?

Why do you think it is that we didn't even know the bounty program was going on until 3 years after it started?

If it has such an effect on players and the game, how come no fans even knew about it or would have known about it if the Saints never left a paper trail?

Think about it. We would have never even known. So how can you say that it changes the game or the way players play?

But..but..but......the Brett Favre and Kurt Warner hits are the only egregious over the top hits that were blatantly to hurt a player ONLY because of the bounty program in the NFL the last 5 years!!!!!

I thought something was up during that whole playoff run of 09. That was the dirtiest run I personally remember seeing a team make.

I'm seeing a lot of people say this now and I expect a lot more to start saying this now that we know but I don't remember anyone calling them out on here or in the media at the time. They got a couple of fines which is pretty routine these days but nobody was saying much about else about it.

Not saying you didn't suspect something, but it's easy for people to say "oh yea I knew something was up!" now when 3 years ago they were saying "holy shit the Saints are getting after it."
