It didn't take long for free agent cornerback Shawn Springs to find a new home, or for the New England Patriots to strengthen their secondary with a veteran cover man.
More coincidence than anything.. the Springs to Pats deal was in the works before TO got the axe.
Yes sir, the contract was in place last week with Springs, they just didn't announce anything. Certainly upgraded with both these guys but I still think they draft a corner and safety on the first day of the draft. With so much talent in the secondary coming out this year, they have to look long term. Last year proved that you can never have enough depth in the secondary. I like what they have done so far, smart moves across the board!
they won't draft a corner. Not that anyone can guess what they will do draft day, but with Hobbs/Springs/Bodden/Wheatley/Wilhite/O'Neal if he's still here.. i think thats pretty solid. We should now go safety, shore up at LB, and just draft for depth/the future

O'neal??? Are you serious? I think you might have more success playing corner than O'neal.
btw- Hobbs contract is up after this year, not sure they re-sign him either.
