    Buccaneers shopping CB Aqib Talib

Nothing to see here, now move along..... move the fuck along And lol at slipped in 2011. He played well last seaosn just so happen the team was so shitty it looked like he slipped. Him, Clayborn and Ronde were decent, everyone else sucked.

Buccaneers plan to hang on to troubled CB Aqib Talib

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are not shopping cornerback Aqib Talib, sources said Wednesday.

The Bucs have always been thrilled with the young corner's play and though he has had off field issues for sure, the team feels good about the prospects of his upcoming court case, sources said.

The Bucs have not explored trade options for Talib, and I'd be very surprised if that changed in the near future. Ronde Barber is expected to play more safety this season, and while the team might draft a cornerback in the first round, giving up on Talib is not something the Bucs are expected to do,

An earlier report from PewterReport.com claimed that the Bucs were shopping Talib, but so far had not received any takers.

Good point by a poster over at our message board.

We paid Eric Wright #1 CB money, Aqib is a real #1, Ronde can still contribute in nickel packages....maybe its just me but I just don't see the Bucs targeting Claiborne. Where would he fit in? He would start day 1 I'm assuming but then we would have to demote Aqib or Wright...it won't be Wright...you don't pay a corner that much money to only play part time....he is paid to be a full time starter....and Aqib is the most talented corner we have...Schiano preaches he wants the best guys on the field at all times....I still don't think our plan is to draft Claiborne...I think Dominik will either trade up to get Trent or trade down and draft Safety/LB/RB
We pass on Claiborne, assuming he is there along with Richardson, then Aqib is a Buc. We take Claiborne over Richardson then Aqib may be on his way out Simply too much money tied up in CBs and Aqib is going to want to be paid.

I remember watching Jordy Nelson tape after the Packers draft him....then I saw this little gem.

Greg Schiano denies team wants to deal Aqib Talib
Posted by Josh Alper on April 18, 2012, 6:10 PM EDT
Getty ImagesThe Buccaneers may have serious interest in LSU cornerback Morris Claiborne, but, according to their head coach, that doesn’t mean they are trying to trade Aqib Talib.

Greg Schiano responded to a report from Wednesday morning that the team was looking to deal Talib in exchange for a pick or picks in next week’s draft. He told the Tampa Bay Times that there’s nothing to it.

“All I can tell you is that there is absolutely zero thinking on our part as far as wanting to do that,” Schiano said. “I want him to be a Buc. I understand there’s been issues before I arrived. I’m not naive to that. And I understand that some of those are a heck of a lot bigger than playing football. But I am really hopeful that that clears itself up. Since I met him for the first time, he’s done everything I’ve asked. He’s practiced well and he’s prepared well. I try not to judge people other than (by) how they treat me, and he’s treated me well. I don’t know how all that got started, but no, there’s no truth to that.”

It’s a strong denial, especially since there’s been a lot of focus on clearing out players with character issues since Schiano came to Tampa. It could be an attempt to drive up the price in a trade, of course, but the truth remains that trading Talib is problematic on two fronts.

The first is the trial for aggravated assault that starts at the end of June, leaving his availability for the 2012 season in some doubt, and the second is the impact that uncertainty will have on the return in a trade. Troubled or not, Talib is a talented player who was a first-round pick just a few years ago. The Bucs wouldn’t get anything close to that in a deal and might be better off rolling the dice on Talib’s availability as they try to rebound from a rough 2011 season.
