This is a bullshit story that I heard about a couple of days. Not really sure how this rumor started.

The St. Louis Rams did their best to stamp out a rumor the day before the draft, saying running back Steven Jackson is not unhappy with his contract.

This would be like Christmas come early for Jackson.

I don't think the Rams are inclined to give him a new contract, though if they did take Trent Richardson I think they would move Jackson for a mid-round pick.

I believe it would be best for them to just keep him at this point, especially with the amount of talent they have on offense.

It's like I said in the other Jackson thread. If he is really bitching about ANOTHER reworked contract, fuck this guy, move on. Rams reworked his deal once already, and he'll be 30 years old in 2013.

He's probably the best player that nobody has ever seen play. He's a great (not good, great) player who would be a lock Hall of Famer on probably any other NFL franchise, but the team is terrible and he isn't worth the trouble at this point.

Worst all time 5-year NFL record with him, so obviously they can't be any worse without him.

Jackson said last week at a voluntary minicamp that he'd understand if the Rams took Richardson, that he'd help if the kid was receptive.
Jackson has grown up a lot over the years, and is a true team leader in every way, but if the Rams draft Richardson, I hope Jackson remembers all of the sulking he did his rookie year, and how much of a twat he was towards Marshall Faulk, when Faulk tried to mentor him, and Jackson back stabbed him in the media and said he should have been starting from day one and that he was better than Faulk from the day he arrived in camp.

To this point I just looked at his stats. I had no idea he's about ready to go over the 10,000 yard mark this year. Damn.
