Terrell Suggs Tore his Achilles. Assume out for the year.
I play basketball with Marvin Mitchell who is a backup linebacker for the Dolphins. I have always wondered why these guys play basketball in the off season, but I suspect it for the love of the game, stay in shape, and because they don't think it will happen to them. Losing Suggs hurts ALOT.....he's easily our best defensive player. the DPOY will be missed.
Outside of Flacco, Suggs is the only other player on the team that they absolutely could not afford to lose. 14 sacks and 7 FFs last year, plus he defends the run as well as anyone. After losing Johnson in FA, we are really screwed at OLB. Hopefully Upshaw is a quick learner, dude is gonna have to be.

It could happen at any time, though. If you are going to stop someone from playing basketball, then stop them from doing training in the woods or something along those lines. The same thing could happen to me or you playing a pick up game as well.

True, but some of these guys have wording in their contract against some of this stuff. I don't know what Suggs had.
Isn't this like a 6-8 month injury? That gets him back by November/December....hopefully.
That's expecting after 8 months of doing no real strenuous activity for him to just jump back in to playing football. It'll probably be a little longer than that, barring no set backs. December is probably the realistic time to expect him back, even though he is saying October.
