    Jason Peters ruptures Achilles again

Injured Philadelphia Eagles left tackle Jason Peters has ruptured his right Achilles tendon for the second time this offseason, a league source told ComcastSportsNet Philadelphia.

According to the report, Peters was injured when the vehicle he was using to maneuver following surgery broke while Peters was in his kitchen. The report said Peters then fell face-first and re-injured the Achilles.

The five-time Pro Bowler then needed a second surgery to correct the problem and his recovery timeline was set back by three weeks, according to ComcastSportsNet Philadelphia.

Peters first underwent surgery in early April after rupturing the tendon while working out in Texas on March 27. The Eagles then signed former Bills lineman Demetress Bell to replace Peters.

Following the original injury, Dr. Michael Kaplan, ESPN's medical analyst, reported in March that Peters' ankle likely would be immobilized for two to four weeks following surgery, and Peters would undergo physical therapy for motion and strengthening for several months. Kaplan, who has not examined Peters, said in March that he would likely miss a minimum of four to six months of football activity.

The Eagles acquired Peters in a trade with Buffalo for three draft picks before the 2009 draft. He has been named to every Pro Bowl since 2007.

He played five seasons for the Bills, 3½ as a starter.

Undrafted out of Arkansas, Peters is a 6-foot-4, 340-pound native of Queen City, Texas
