GT now banging down the realignment door of the B12

    Greg Swaim ‏ @ GSwaim
Funny how # GT thumbed their nose at # Big12 academics over a week ago,
and now is begging to get in. Football cash trumps academics I guess?

    # GT not alone, as nearly half the # ACC is knocking on # Big12 door. It will be
opened for some. # Clemson # VT # UMiami # CardNation # ND # NCState

" @ JustinRyder88: @ GSwaim Is the GT market enough to get them in?" // Apparently that, and they have the exit fee. They want in bad now.

Swaim is a known attention whore, but one of the B12 AD's has admitted today that FSU, CU, Miami and a few other teams have been begging the B12 for admittance...

Thats fine, but none of those schools are GT. FSUs and CUs academics are more in line with the Big12. GT's academics are more in line with the ACC.

GT tried to the B10 route first, was denied and is now wanting into the B12, since the ACC will implode...

I think we already had this conversation. Here is the hierarchy in the ACC: 1) basketball 2) academics 3) football. I doubt the ACC will implode if FSU leaves for the Big12.

VT and one of the NC schools have contacted the SEC about joining, and CBS is trying to push Slive into taking them... UVA and UMD have contacted the B10 about joining, and pretty much everyone else is trying to get into the B12... ACC, at least as we know it now, is done (pending something unforeseen, like Dodds being a little bitch about UT)...

Crazy to think that not long ago, the Big 12 was on the brink of extinction.

These giant leagues aren't even good for football. What is the point of a 18 team SEC? So LSU can play Florida St every 4 years?
