The board at Marco Island Charter Middle School (“The Best Middle School in Collier County”) is leaving it up to the principal whether to relieve former Indianapolis Colt Mike Vanderjagt of his football coaching duties over what is alleged to be the greatest malfeasance by a former NFL kicker in Florida since Ace Ventura chased down Ray Finkle.

Vanderjagt is accused of choking a student who mocked him for, well, choking. The police came back May 14 and said Vanderjagt would not be charged with any crime, but that might not be enough to keep him at the school.

Groan me all you want Derrville but kids today are cowardly and have no respect. This kid was running his mouth and hiding behind the idea that nobody would do anything to him since he's just a kid. This kids needs to learn not to run his mouth unless he is ready to deal with the consequences and I hope this taught him a lesson.
