Justin Blackmon Arrested For Aggravated DUI

Former Oklahoma State wide receiver Justin Blackmon was arrested on a complaint of aggravated DUI early Sunday in Stillwater, according to the Payne County Jail.

Blackmon, 22, was booked into jail about 10 a.m., the jail reported. No further details were immediately available.

According to Oklahoma law, aggravated DUI is defined as the driver's blood-alcohol level being at .15 or high.

In October 2010, Blackmon was arrested by Carrollton, Texas, police on a DUI complaint. Blackmon was driving a Chevy pickup north on I-35 after having attended, with three friends, a Dallas Cowboy game on a Monday night. Police radar registered Blackmon’s speed as having been 92 mph in a 60 mph zone.

As Oklahoma State was preparing for Big 12 road game at Kansas State, Blackmon attended the Dallas game without seeking permission from Cowboy coach Mike Gundy. Blackmon was arrested at 3:45 a.m., and Gundy responded with a one-game suspension of the prolific wide receiver.

Following the 2010 incident, Blackmon seemed contrite during a news conference in Stillwater: “I’m embarrassed to be in this position. ... I look forward to redeeming myself and proving to everybody that this isn’t who I am. I’m not this guy. I’m humbled by this experience and I will grow from it.”

A two-time unanimous All-American and two-time recipient of the Biletnikoff Award (given annually to the top wide receiver in college football), Blackmon is No. 2 in OSU’s career record book behind Rashaun Woods in receiving yards (3,564), receptions (252) and touchdown catches (40).

Before Oklahoma State defeated Stanford in the Jan. 2 Fiesta Bowl, Gundy described Blackmon as the best wide receiver ever to have played at OSU.

"He's going down, in my opinion, as the best player to play here since Barry Sanders (OSU's 1988 Heisman Trophy-winning tailback)," Gundy said.

Blackmon has not signed a contract with the Jaguars. Reportedly, negotiations began two weeks ago.

As the fifth pick in the draft, Blackmon is expected to get a deal of about $20 million overall. Taken by the Arizona Cardinals with the fifth pick in 2001, LSU cornerback Patrick Peterson got a four-year contract worth $19.5 million. His signing bonus amounted to $11.9 million. If or when Blackmon agrees to terms with Jacksonville, he is expected to get a comparable deal.

Justin Blackmon Arrested For Aggravated DUI

Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Justin Blackmon was arrested on a complaint of aggravated DUI early Sunday morning in Stillwater, Okla., a Payne County Jail spokeswoman confirmed to NFL.com.

Blackmon, 22, was booked into Payne County Jail at 10:22 a.m. CT on Sunday. Oklahoma law says aggravated DUI applies to drivers with a .15 or higher blood alcohol level.

For Blackmon, this is the second time he has been arrested on a DUI complaint. In October of 2010, Blackmon was arrested in Carrollton, Texas after attending a Dallas Cowboys game on Monday Night Football. Blackmon did not have permission to attend the game and was suspended for one game by Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy.

In 38 games at Oklahoma State, the 6-foot-1, 207-pound Blackmon caught 252 passes for 3,564 yards and 40 touchdowns. Blackmon left Stillwater after catching 121 passes for 1,522 yards and 18 touchdowns as a junior. The Jaguars traded up with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to select Blackmon with the No. 5 pick in the 2012 NFL Draft. Blackmon has yet to sign his rookie contract, which is expected to be worth around $18.5 million in fully guaranteed money.

Hey! Warren Moon! Tell me how my ass tastes!

Warren Moon made a cottage industry for himself leading up to last year's draft with his full-throated defense of Cam Newton against critics of the eventual first overall pick.

Any bets on how many game suspension this is?

I have a bet on how many receiving yards this guy is going to get. Looking like a great bet right now.

Doubt he gets a suspension as this is his first offense in the NFL. At the worst he'll get a nice fine.

The Oklahoman has clarified that Blackmon was arrested at 3AM ET on Sunday morning -- not 10AM as originally reported. Regardless, the 0.24 BAC content is alarming and suggests Blackmon was either drinking all day and night, or drank a lot, quickly, before getting behind the wheel. Blackmon was released Sunday at 12:45PM on $1,000 bond. He's due in court Monday for an arraignment.
