I'd be an alcoholic too if Blaine Gabbert was the guy throwing me passes

Earlier today I put up a post about my favorite Jacksonville Jaguars highlight. I chose a 90-yard touchdown run by former Jaguars running back Fred Taylor. Taylor, who took Maurice Jones-Drew under his wing when he came into the league and a longtime team leader, reached out to Justin Blackmon to talk to him about his DUI arrest. Taylor dealt with some things off the field early in his career. It wasn't necessarily the same as what Blackmon is dealing with, but the former Jaguars great wanted to touch base with the young rookie.

"Anytime my name was brought up, or if I had a bad game, I didn't even read the papers," Taylor told Jaguars.com editor John Oesher, while they were on the Jaguars caravan together. "I don't think he's the type of person who will be affected by it, in terms of his psyche. I think he's going to be fine. He might end up putting a little more pressure on himself in terms of wanting to do right in the eyes of people. But I think the best thing he can do now is not even read the papers or twitter and stuff."

According to Taylor, Blackmon was responsive and sounded humble in their conversation. "He has time," Taylor said. Taylor didn't necessarily say he was planning to mentor Blackmon, but the two exchanged numbers.
Fred Taylor reaching out to Justin Blackmon. I don't think i could like Freddy T more than I already do.
