Front runners for Comeback Player of the Year?

There are a slew of players expected to have bounce back seasons, but who do you think is the favorite to win the award? A name that immediate comes to mind is Philip Rivers. He should be healthier and have more targets to throw to. On the defensive end, I like Eric Berry. He was a stud in his rookie year.

Philip Rivers, comeback player of the year?? 4624 passing yards, 27 TDs, 88.7 rating, even with the 20 INTs...not exactly sure what he's supposed to be coming back from?

I thought they already gave the award to Peyton Manning?

Seriously, if Peyton stays healthy, there's no way he doesn't get it.

Terrell Thomas led the Giants in tackles two seasons ago and he's expected to be healthy and ready to go to start the season. He'll probably be the #2 corner unless Amukamara pushes him.

I think an obvious choice is Peyton.

I will say this again this year. Players who were injured the season before shouldn't win this award. It should be players who shit the bed but still played and then comeback and have a stellar season. /rant

Agree 110%. Sadly, the writers do not share that same sentiment and will instead continue to vote that way, meaning if Peyton Manning turns in an 80% performance, he is a shoo-in for the award. The only exception to that in my mind, is someone like Wes Welker, who beat the standard time for coming back from ligament replacement surgery.

Not sure why someone said Philip Rivers, as he had a pretty good season last year anyway, but will face an uphill climb this year without DJax and the inevitable Antonio Gates injury.

I'm actually thinking Bradford as a comeback player. Eyes also need to be on Randy Moss, and I know that the sides will be split equally on that one.

It's obviously going to be Peyton Manning. People bringing up CB's and shit are lost.

Okay. I thought they gave one for offense and one for defense.

Don't think for a second my brand of homerism would say Thomas is contending with a healthy Peyton Manning.

It's going to be Peyton. The only thing stopping that is if Randy Moss were to have a comeback season like 2007 in New England.
