If you force yourself to sit through it for MLB coverage, i suggest you subscribe to the MLB network.

Well at least now you're admitting that YOU'RE the one with growing displeasure/disinterest with the NFL...instead of pretending you're just concerned about the league.

To that i say, tough shit, i dont really care whether or not you watch the NFL...ill enjoy watching the extra 3rd game/week regardless.
I never said I was 'concerned' with the NFL, I couldn't care less whether the NFL dips in popularity or not. You asked me a question, and I provided you my personal anecdotes as to why i'm growing increasingly tired with the NFL.

I don't know if the NFL has reached the point of over saturation, but what I do know, is that nearly every move they make creeps them closer to finding out.

It has to do with why you bring it up in the 1st place.

Yes, there is potential for over-exposure. But we have no idea at what point that would become a factor.

So you bringing it up is just an excuse for you to complain about the quality & amount of NFL games, which you were already tired of to begin with.

Too bad for you, but at least you have your MLB 7 days a week. I rather watch paint dry or grass grow than watch a second of baseball, but you dont see me complaining about MLB saturation.

So you agree with the idea that there is potential over exposure breaking point, but for some reason you are annoyed that I bring it up, even though this is a thread about NFL television exposure, which would seem to be a suitable place to discuss it. Makes sense.

And again, the baseball comparisons are flat out stupid, because one of the primary reasons the NFL blew by baseball and all of the other sports as a television property is because...well, think about it for a second and then fill in the blank.

Yes, because like i said, you dont have any basis for bringing it up. There is zero evidence that the NFL is reaching over-exposure. You been complaining & crying about "over exposure" since years ago...and been wrong since years ago. Until you have any evidence to support your complaints you should STFU.

Is because...the NFL airs less games per week? Thats a completely baseless and stupid argument. There have been more NFL games added per week, and the NFL hasnt showed any signs of slowing.

But attendance at NFL games has been slowing....or at least that is what the data says to me. The reason it is slowing isn't because people don't want to go to the games. It's more because the cost of going to a game has skyrocketed over the past 5 years and people have started taking advantage of watching Sunday Ticket or RedZone broadcasts of the games in the comfort of their own homes. I like having my iPad going with fantasy football scores and drinking the booze and snacks that I picked up at Costco more than spending $250 to go deal with parking, drunks, lines and inflated concession prices.

^ The reason attendance is slowing has nothing to do with more games being aired per week. If NFL ratings were to drop, that would show over-exposure.

My stance is that they are creeping towards over exposing the product, and need to be careful not to over saturate the market, because once they do, and the public has enough, there is no turning back.

I'm not sure why you are arguing so hard against this basic and inarguable principle which applies to any form of entertainment.

The bold is all I need to hear. You are completely lost and have no clue.

The second unbolded part i'm not even going to touch, because we've now gone is a full circle, and you still don't get it.

You remind me of my cousin, who got hit by a car and was awarded an injury settlement. He received a few hundred thousand dollars per year for like 5 years. So he quit his job and lived off the settlement money. Everybody warned him that the money would stop coming one day, and that he should probably not spend so lavishly and even go back to work at some point. He didn't listen, because "they keep sending me checks!".

"They keep sending me checks!" = "The NFL hasn't shown any signs of slowing!"

For the last time, im not arguing against your stance. Im pointing out that over-exposure is far from happening, and that there are no signs its even on the horizon.

Pretty sure the one who doesnt get it is you. You implied that THE sole reason why the NFL became so popular is because it only aired 1/2 times a week. I can list many other reasons why its popular...it being on 1/2 times a week wasnt the only reason for it.

Wow, what a horrificly moronic comparison, and complete change of stance.

By that comparison, you've gone from simply claiming "hey, over-exposure is a risk"...to implying "its a FACT that over-exposure will occur." Really? You dont even know how the Thursday night games will be received, nor do you know if the NFL will stop adding games.

                  -----------------

Also, even assuming that over-exposure does happen ...like i said before, i dont give a shit...the league will still be around, and ill still be watching all the games they air, just like you watch mlb 7 days a week.

Well, now you are just putting words in my mouth, so i'm done with this.

Also, if you "don't give a shit" if the NFL ends up suffering from over exposure, then why are you bothering to argue about it so passionately like I insulted your sister or something?

No im not, that was the implied message of your comparison.
