Colt McCoy is a few weeks from reporting to Cleveland Browns training camp, where he’ll battle rookie Brandon Weeden for the starting quarterback’s job.
McCoy has repeatedly said he only wants a fair chance to compete for the job. But does he expect to get it?
"We'll see, I don't know," McCoy told Brent Carney of KXAN-TV at his annual football camp in Austin, Texas. "There are a lot of things I can control and I'm controlling those things. The things beyond that I try to do my best to not worry about those and go out there and do what I do on the field, that's the most important thing. Beyond that, I can't do anything else."
While McCoy may not understand where he fits in Cleveland’s plans, he likes the direction of the team.
"We've had some turnover in our coaches, we're on our third offensive coordinator but I felt like it went really well this spring. I learned a lot, improved a lot and I think our team also got a lot better. We're a young a football team and we're going to be a lot better than we were last year but we'll see what happens with my situation," he said.
