I expect him to be a great player down the road, but I feel that if he doesn't come out of the gate throwing for 250 yards, running for 50 and getting 3 touchdowns per game people are going to questioning trading the house for him. I just think Redskins fans need to cool it a bit.
Like I said, I don't expect him to finish with numbers similar to Newton, but I think he will be just as successful as a QB and his team will do better than the Panthers did last year. Either way, both Dalton and Newton are proof that QBs can start in the NFL in this time as a rookie.

When you think about it, the Redskins didn't really trade all that much. People are saying the three first round picks were crazy, but one of those was essentially swapped with the Rams. For a team desperate for a franchise QB, two first rounders is not that high of a price to pay.

IMO Washington had to get Griffin, but I'm just hopeful the fans and media give him a chance to grow into the position. When I hear things like, "if he has a season like Dalton it will be a disappointment" I get concerned. I actually like Griffin a lot, but I don't expect him to come in and be like Killa Cam.

Korey L is out for the season opener. Jamal Brown is still on the PUP. I'm not expecting either on opening day.

*sigh* That Cousins pick is looking stupider and stupider right now. LeBrius would have been there in the 4th. Could have taken a tackle in the third and a guard in the 4th
The king was shaken. He went up to the room over the gateway and wept.
As he went, he said: "O my son Absalom! My son, my son Absalom!
If only I had died instead of you
O Absalom, my son, my son!"

I agree. I think that would be a luxury pick for a team already one of the best in the league like the Pats drafting Ryan Mallett in the 3rd. Redskins aren't yet on that level.

They should have been more active in the FA market to secure some depth, as with the pass-rushers in this division, I would rather have a vet playing than a rookie. While ignoring the offensive line for so long, I understand your frustration but I do understand why they picked Cousins. By doing so, they sped up the time for both QBs to learn the offense.

Does not excuse ignoring this position for so long, and it goes back to Gibbs too.

Gibbs didn't ignore it when it was painfully obvious. He had Samuels, Jansen and Thomas.

This is just more of the Mike Shanahan arrogance. He thinks his system can take trash and turn it into a great line. He fails to acknowledge that the rules that allowed him to do this have changed.

Gibbs and Shanahan essentially have the same line, but Gibbs had a little bit more talent. Both had absolutely no depth to speak of, and that's always hurt the Redskins. The teams that have been repeat contenders year in and out like the Ravens and Patriots have backups who could start on most other teams. That is what the Redskins have ignored year after year after year. You address this depth in the draft, and it's never been a focus.

London Fletcher is one of the most underrated players in the history of the NFL.

the Redskins needed a QB and selling out for RGIII was a solid good move......
we had no other choice really.

he is and will be the future. he is a pure athelete, so its not like we sold out for another Heath Schuler

although; he has a big role to step right into, i think the Skins are smart enough to let him set a simple pace to ease into filling those shoes.

in other words; i would doubt they would make him go out there and throw 35+ times per game.

regardless; he will bring plenty to the table......especially after watching Grossman and Beck last season

3rd & 14, inside your own 15, up 6, 3:20min left to go = call a PA Pass and Cancel. *its Legit, so no needless complaining
