    Peppers to the Patriots?

Yeah, if they go through with it, it's one helluva trade, i don't wanna see Peppers in a NE uniform though..

hell yeah...the panthers can get 1st rd talent at that pick easily with the reaches, and frees up major cap space to make moves...i wouldnt be surprised if another late pick is thrown in

They should've just created a three way trade when the KC - NE trade went down. The Panthers would free up something like 17 mil in cap space though. Also get a higher draft pick when i think their first pick is late in the 2nd.

now I'm no math guru but........

according to this site http://www.patscap.com/ which is updated quite frequently and seems to be accurate, it shows the Patriots have 7.8 million free + the signing of Galloway.

How the fuck can they afford Peppers PLUS draft picks to come?

Or are they just going to backload his deal and go with the idea that the NFL is going to go cap-less?

That's why the Patriots are the best FO in football.

They won't trade for him without him signing the tender first.. then they would sign him to a long term deal.

Basically him being tagged is the average of the Top 5 DE's in football (Freeney, Mario Williams, etc) so his cap number is huge. But the Patriots would likely give him a mammoth deal and backload it so his cap number would be nowhere near that.

How do they have 7.8M when the trading of Cassel freed up about 14.5M. They have a very good management. I don't think that number is right.

Patriots rule. At least their front office does. Impressive.

Wouldnt worry about the cap space I am sure they have it all figured out.

As amazing as it would be for the Patriots to land a talent like Peppers, its pretty unrealistic from a cap stand-point, no? A veteran like Jason Taylor seems to make a lot more sense.

So Shefter says there is a 99.9% chance that Peppers will not play for the Panthers as well next year?

This situation seems like a clusterfuck to me. What will a team have to give up to acquire Peppers? And if the Panthers can't get what they want in return, will Peppers refuse to sign the tag and just sit out the season? What are the consequences of that?

What'd I say? I knew the Pats would sign a good Defensive player soon.
