NFL backing down? Why? They have all the evidence right?

The NFL has offered to reduce New Orleans Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma's year-long suspension to eight games if he drops his civil suit against commissioner Roger Goodell.

I bet it gets further reduced to 4 or 6 games.

Good for Vilma. I usually side with Gooddells decisions but I don't think he dished out some of these punishments fairly.

NFL denied any settlement claim and said they fully expect to win the case.

Like it or not, the CBA does protect the NFL in cases like this since Vilma went outside the rules set forth in the CBA in bringing the lawsuit immediately instead of filing a complaint first.

What on earth are you talking about when you claim "perjury"?
