If you transfer between schools in the same division (FBS or basically, the division of football we all care about involving Notre Dame, Michigan, USC, Alabama, etc.), you have to sit out a full season before you can play. On the other hand, if he goes to a smaller school in a different division (FCS or Division 2, the division people don't care about involving Harvard, McNeese State, Appalachian State, etc.), you can play immediately.

It's in one of the best and most heavily scouted FCS conferences, he can play immediately, and it's only an hour from Baton Rouge and two hours from New Orleans. Plus they have really low academic standards, as in, non-existent.
