Virtual Sports Nick Foles *Un-Official* bandwagon

Lets be clear on this -- Vick is one heck of a football player who has great toughness and is hard to gameplan against. That being said, THAT DOESN'T MAKE HIM THE BEST QB OPTION ON THE TEAM. A QB in the national football league needs to be smart (football IQ), tough, have a good arm, and durable. VICK only has 2 of those traits based on his career. Foles seems to have more of these requirnments. For teams like the Patriots, Steelers, Giants, Foles would be starting over Vick. Vick would be a wild cat QB option for those teams. It is not a coincidence that those teams have played for the right to win the Lombardi Trophy each year. Lets be honest with each other here -- we need to be more like the teams that finish ahead of us each year.

I'm not sure about Foles, but I do know that Andy Reid makes Qb's a lot of money, because he has to be the best QB coach in league history. When in his system they look really good and teams think they're getting something they aren't. The list of guys includes McNabb, Vick, Detmer, Feeley, Kolb and know Foles ( I may be forgetting some). Of the list the only legit NFL QB's are McNabb and Vick; however, I’d say he improved both of their careers to the point where they are considered among the leagues best. Down the road I expect Foles to either replace an injured Vick or he will sign somewhere via free agency and get a lot of money to be some team's starter.

I agree that this happens a lot with Reid, but really its happens everywhere.

The league is so QB starved, that all it takes is a few quarters of small sample size (Matt Flynn) to not only earn a starting job, but also earn a multi year, multi million dollar deal. Not just picking on Flynn either, because we see it every year with a different name (Kolb).

Don't really know shit about Foles, but he will start his fair share of games this season due to Vick's glass body frame.

The Eagles had better hope he can play because if he doesn't start at least a couple of games I'd be shocked. He's looked MUCH better than Kafka has in his first few years.

The backup QB is always the most popular guy in town.

              Until he actually starts.

How about we let the guy actually play a real game first.

I have watched Luck and I think Foles looks as good if not better. Just found out that Nick Foles has the highest QB rating of any QB in the preseason right now. It's just preseason I understand but that still a good sign. Once Foles gets his chance he won't come back out. That being said, Vick you had better stay in the game. It's a postive thing for the Eagles regardless of how anyone views it. It can only motivate Vick and the Eagles will have an insurance policy for Vick.

Honestly, I just want to see Foles as the backup at least and our QB of the very near future and if he gets his chance this year so be it....lets roll with him.

It's not that he just doing well this preseason. If you have watched the games you could see that he has poise BEYOND his years. The guy looks like Big Ben/Brady in one person. I realize it's high praise but this guy has me super excited and we haven't seen anyone just strap it up and play like this in years as a rookie.

He is going to make mistakes just like any rookie but he shows the ability to just shrug it off and bounce back. Very rare size and skills IMO....Great feet and pocket awareness along with super toughnes. He showed all these same traits in college but that was college. I had no idea he would translate this well-- this fast.

If at this point in his career Mike Vick needs Nick Foles' presence to motivate him, then the Eagles are in serious trouble.

I've been impressed with him too, but im not ready to hand over a starting job or even say he's an heir apparent. He's looked good against 2nd team defenses, and does have a strong, accurate arm and decent timing. As an Eagles fan I love the enthusiasm wrath, im just not sure if we are at the point where we should be creating a tracking thread for him.

You are again doing what you do and trying to start by mis-quoting my words. I am going to save for your plain ticket here so that I can zip your lip personally

I will be the first to admitt I was wrong about Kolb....
