If Anderson was on a team without an entrenched starter he'd prob start a preseason game too, to see if he can mirror that production vs a first team defense

And if he doesn't? Then Pete Carroll just wasted the best chance to have Flynn get more acclimated with his starters (of which he has played without Sidney Rice and Doug Baldwin in both games) because he wanted to, just for shits and giggles, see what Russell Wilson could do against starters because he lit up a bunch of guys who are days away from being cut.

I love Pete Carroll, but he fucked this up. A better solution would have been to just reverse what he did with the Titans, and started Wilson against Denver while giving Flynn the second half. Now the only great solution to all of this is Wilson comes out and sets the world on fire. Whereas a much better way to approach it would be to treat Flynn as the guy, give him three quarters with the starters.. and allow him to continue to get his timing/reps down with the starters. Then if Flynn sucks it up in September, you can make the change.. now you're setting yourself up for a quarterback controversy and a black cloud over the head of the offense all season.

Its the same thing that's going to kill the Jets season. "Competition" is great at every other position.. not quarterback. You need that ironed out ASAP. Hence why Miami went with Tannehill and Tennessee went with Locker. Moore/Hasselbeck are good options too, but you don't need that uncertainty hanging over the starters heads.

Flynn is missing maybe 1.5 qtrs with the starters. If that keeps him from getting acclimated then he shouldn't be starting in the first place. You wanna put the best final product on the field. And it's completely possible that Wilson could better than Flynn. It'd be a worse decision to not find out and maybe sacrifice games later because the better player was on the bench.
You make it sound like Flynn is a ringer who should automatically be starting, if he was that impressive then it wouldn't matter what Wilson did. But clearly he hasn't been good enough to separate himself.
