Dez Bryant "Agrees" to Behavior Guidelines with Cowboys

Maybe they can throw Tennessee a bone with Britt, too?

The guidelines Bryant agreed to took effect Aug. 23 when the team returned to Dallas after three weeks of training camp in California, according to sources.

Sources say some of the rules Bryant must abide are as follows:

    • A midnight curfew. If he's going to miss curfew, team officials must know in advance;

    • No drinking alcohol.

    • He can't attend any strip clubs and can only attend nightclubs if they are approved by the team and he has a security team with him.

    • He must attend counseling sessions twice a week.

    • A rotating three-man security team will leave one man with Bryant at all times.

    • Members of the security team will drive Bryant to practices, games and team functions.

Giants should send Will Hill to hang out with him.

Just like everyone assuming he slapped his own mother with his monstrous hands last month - it's just not that simple.

It's amazing the amount of resources a team will invest In a talented player. I hope he gets it together, because on the field the dude is an absolute stud.

That is absurd. Essentially controlling his life, and it shouldn't have to come to that. If I am a team paying an athlete like Bryant over a million each year, I expect him to keep himself out of trouble.

Pretty sad that a grown man has to be given a set of guide lines like this.

Being grown physically and being matured mentally are totally different things.

You should expect it, but if the player is talented enough and you've invested what the Cowboys have you have to try and make it work.

I would love for the Titans to enforce something like this on Britt.

                    Two things:

                    1. We know how well these rules worked for Pac-Man Jones, don't we?

                    2. Has anyone heard anything about these rules being in violation of the current CBA? These security people won't work for free. I assume the Cowboys will pay for it. Can they afford it?

                      1) He's not QBert

                      2) He agreed to the rules himself

Or maybe they shouldnt have invested in him at all. They had just got rid of a player with character issues before bringing in Bryant. There is a reason teams like the Giants, Pats, Packers and Steelers are as successful as they are year in and year out while the Cowboys are nothing more than ESPN hype every season.

Oh, you mean the teams that currently employ a criminal, a drunk driver, a guy who failed the league's drug test, a guy who punched his girlfriend in the face, and an (alleged) multiple time rapist?

                          Gotcha.

No, I mean the teams that have accounted for 8 of the last 11 Superbowls.

Did he have any other options though? Face possible suspension by the NFL if he and his team didn't come to some agreement? Have Garrett bury him on the depth chart?

I'll say it again, it's absurd for any team to have to do this for one player. There's not really another way to describe it.
