This. We have arguably the deepest running back set in the nation and a defense that has seemingly endless depth. Yes, they would be missed, but there are plenty of young guys who can step in and play capably.

-UCF may or may not be elgible for the CUSA Championship title by the end of the year.
If UCF loses their current appeal (which they probably will) they will not be able to participate in the cusa championship game or a bowl for this season.
If the appeal takes long, and does not get resolved before the end of the season, UCF will be able to participate. My guess is, they are not going to win the appeal, but perhaps buying time to try to go bowling this year. Which is a weird choice, since they are entering a new conference next year and will be banned from post season right out of the gates.Comment

Yes, but Michael Ford is a very underrated RB. He is a badass... I think the best running back LSU has. I know they have a good QB. We loaned him to you guys..lol

Spies are sayin that privately the corches are thinking this could be a very special team. Like in SEC special. Like in - gulp - MNC special. The intangibles are all there. Little to no discipline issues; team leadership all over the place; team focus; willingness to work to improve every day; desire; hunger to be the best; no grade or attendance issues; and - thank God - no scooter crashes or driver license scrapes. Other than a couple of mandatory hammies and a lone broken foot we've managed to avoid injuries this camp. Then there's the pure athletic talent.
The D is absolutely loaded at every position through the two deep and even three down at several positions. Plus CTG is now on the level of the very best DC's in college f'ball and is one helluva recruiter too boot. He DEMANDS allot time / effort from his assistants and the results of their efforts are obvious. Rambo came back for a reason, folks. Like it or not it's payday time for Jenkins, Rambo, plus a few others.
The O is almost as deep at the skill positions if a little untested at certain spots. Nonetheless the individual talent is there along with a plethora of weapons across the field. JR, KM, TG, are the genuine articles and every bit as good or better as advertised. Unlike recent history the OL has actually learned who to block in this camp. If nothing else they do know their assignments. Will the miracles never cease? They've worked hard as a group all camp to become a unit but with an undersized center, FR RT, and others in new roles it's still a work in progress starting out. (We'll find out a lot at Mizzou but for real at Crackolina) More OL depth is needed but that will come in '13. As for '12, IMO, all it's gonna take is for the OL to be just solid or "soundly average" for us to move the ball on anyone and score points. Spies are saying the redzone scoring issues are gonna be laid to rest this season. The TB's are good enough to exploit even the slightest crease and when MM moves back to WR that group will be on par with anyone.
The two new kickers are very good. However since Roman times nobody knows what goes on in the minds of specialists and one need look no further than BW and DB in '11 as proof!! That said the staff took '11's abominable special teams performance as a very personal professional embarrassment and have put in research / coaching to correct the issues. My spies are sayin the ST look to be much, much, much, improved. Course there's nowhere to go but up the way we played in '11 but just to be on a level slightly behind the LSU's or Bama's would be a major, major, accomplishment. Hayul, I'd be ecstatic over adequate kick and punt coverage along with no blocked kicks!
Lastly, Mr. X Factor 2012 hasn't been mentioned the MI-6 Directorate affirms he indeed fits in very nicely.
The bottom line is those in the "know" or the "arena" (take your pick) believe this could be the best UGA team in half a century. That's right: FIFTY FRIGGIN YEARS! Put that statement in perspective for a few seconds and let it sink in as you consider all the truly great players out of the 3,000+ who've donned the Red & Black since 1962. Pretty imposing comparison and yet with a couple of things going our way, 2012 could be our year to hoist the MNC Crystal in January. Miami is nice that time of year. Hopefully see y'all there!Comment
