    Rams fans...

Who is the safer handcuff to Steven Jackson, Daryl Richardson or Isaiah Pead?

Haven't been able to watch either in preseason. Not that it means much, but I'm wondering if one has looked better/safer to stash on my roster to backup SJax?

Everybody claims Pead is the backup, he was basically handed the job, but from what i've seen Richardson is the better player and I think he will eventually end up being the primary backup.

Pead is softer than bread and goes down on first contact. Richardson has a better burst, runs harder, and has had better production. Jackson is obviously very effective on 3rd downs, so I don't really see a major role for Pead aside from returning kicks. The Rams plan on running a smash mouth between the tackles running game, which does not suit Pead at all.

If Jackson goes down just look for another back somewhere else....you are not talking about a great running team here. Most likely if Jackson goes down there will be a lot of 3 and outs and split carries.

A real handcuff that is a sure thing that I can think of is Tate with Foster. Tate has proven that he can play and run in that system with or without Foster in there.

There are a few others...Bush and Forte, Hillis and Charles.....cant think of many others.

Thanks for the insight. Jacquizz and Dwyer are my other options to pick up. Not sure who to go with.

Jennings and MJD. Even with the holdout, I was able to pick up Jennings in two drafts in the late rounds in the past two weeks.

                Rams RB's saw 23 carries:

                Jackson - 21
                Richardson - 2

Pead did not see a single offensive snap, and as of right now is the primary KR and #3 RB.
