This is a part of college football I hate. These games should never happen.

It helps the smaller schools. You dont have to like it, but for some schools, it's a lifeline.

The Athletic Director/HC, etc for Savannah St is the biggest fucking asshole ever.

Good job scheduling 2 guarenteed losses by 40+ points for your first two games of the season. Way to keep your teams morale high.

Due to a weather delay and the score, they are doing a running clock.

                Edit: another delay

I wonder how that works with the bets.

I'm pretty sure they just get cancelled and people get the money they bet back.

Edit: darrenrovellAs noted by @ViewFromVegas: FSU-Savannah State game is only a valid bet if 55 minutes of the game is played.

So was OU wrong for scheduling FAMU or TCU for scheduling Grambling? Again, it's all about the money and those schools need the payday.

Maybe Miami should take a page out of their book and schedule some FCS schools. They might have a chance to win. Or maybe they did get a payday to play KSt today

This game turned into a debacle. At one point there was a rumor on twitter that they would play the second half with a running clock Luckily it was just cancelled because that would've been fucked up.

i think next year with the playoff system in place you'll start to see teams stop scheduling such cupcakes. if there is a couple teams with identical records and you start looking at schedules who would you rather put in a team that played someone like savannah state or someone who played a weak d1 team or even a top tier fcs team.

I also think teams would be more willing to schedule tougher non-conference games, because with a playoff system one loss isn't going to eliminate you from title contention. Under the current system, a non-conference loss usually means you no longer have a shot at the title, so the Michigan's of the world get penalized for playing Alabama while the Florida State's get rewarded for beating a DivII opponent.

waits for J-hight to jump in with "eliminating the FSU-Savannah St. games would devalue the regular season!"
