    Santonio Holmes Out For Year

Looks like he could be joining Revis in rehab. Caught an out pass, fell awkwardly without being touched, and while rolling on the ground he threw the ball away and grabbed his knee. 49ers picked it up and ran it back for a touchdown. He was taken off sideline on a cart.

LOL at that play, sucks about the injury though. With Keller hobbled as well, the Jets receiving corps is pretty banged up, and I don't see a lot of depth to begin with.

Yeah, the Jets receiving corps was pretty weak even with everyone healthy. Cromartie might be right now.

Sad to see always loved Santonio, but you can't flip the ball up like that. Just fall on top of it then grab your knee

Looks like they dodged a bullet. I guess it was his foot, and xrays were negative.

Looked serious when it happened but he didn't get carted off, just helped.

Might have been the Jets most exciting play on offense in that game. Was there and it was hella fun for a Niners fan.

too bad, the Jets doing well was kind of old school cool. But it appears to be in too big a transition.

will the Chiefs surprise as some predict?

It has always bothered me when people say "verse" when referring to vs.

                    Carry on

Jets were without Hill and Keller as is...then Holmes went down.

                      We had Schillens and Kerley on the outside...love Kerley but he's a slot guy. Schillens isn't a #1, 2, or 3. Gates isn't a #1, 2, 3 or 4. Turner is a negative 5.

Cucumber isn't a starting TE. Greene isn't a starting RB...this is who Sanchez is throwing to, he has zero weapons.

Sanchez misses Keller a lot, hopefully him and Hill return next week.

The Jets are setting the stage for some Tebow Time.

                          Damn.
The New York Jets are bracing for the likelihood of not having wide receiver Santonio Holmes for the remainder of the season.

The final results of diagnostic tests won't be known until Wednesday morning, but the expectation is that his foot injury is season-ending, a league source said Tuesday night.

ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter and ESPN.com's John Clayton were also able to confirm the news.

The loss of Holmes would be a crushing blow for the Jets, who lost their best defensive player, cornerback Darrelle Revis, nine days ago to a season-ending knee injury. Holmes is the team's leading receiver, generally regarded as their top playmaker on offense.

Holmes may have sustained a Lisfranc injury -- torn ligaments in the mid-foot area. That injury often requires surgery and takes several months of recovery time.

The Jets said Monday that X-rays were negative, but Holmes underwent an MRI exam -- and the results were forwarded to a foot specialist in Charlotte.

On Tuesday, the Jets announced they had nothing to announce. Rex Ryan is expected to reveal the diagnosis on Wednesday at his news conference.

Holmes was injured on the first play of the fourth quarter in Sunday's 34-0 loss to the 49ers. He caught a short pass in the flat and, as he turned upfield to run, his left foot got caught in the turf. He was transported out of the stadium on a golf cart, carrying crutches and wearing a walking boot on his foot.

The Jets have only three healthy receivers on the roster after they released Patrick Turner on Tuesday. Jeremy Kerley and Chaz Schilens are the starters, with Clyde Gates in reserve. Rookie Stephen Hill missed the last game with a pulled hamstring, as did tight end Dustin Keller.

Keller is likely to return for Monday night's game against the Texans.

Prepare for Tebow time and a regime change at the end of the season. I can't believe they didn't have the receiver depth on offense, I wonder who they bring in. Hell, Plaxico would be better than anyone currently there.

My wife sustained a Lisfranc .....it sux....her foot still hurts 2 years after surgery.

I actually have a video of it.....no contact or anything. Lisfranc injuries are caused when excessive kinetic energy is applied either directly or indirectly to the midfoot. Examples of this type of trauma include when a rider falls off his horse but his foot remains trapped in the stirrup
