Ohio State and Texas have scheduled a home-and-home football series for 2022 and 2023, the two schools announced today.
Ohio State will travel to face Texas at Darrell K. Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium on Sept. 17, 2022. The Buckeyes will then host the Longhorns at Ohio Stadium in Columbus on Sept. 16, 2023.
The two schools last met in the 2009 Tostitos Fiesta Bowl. Texas won that game 24-21 to extend their overall series lead to 2-1. Prior to that meeting, the schools split a home-and-home series in 2005 and 2006.
Texas is 22-11 against teams from the Big Ten while Ohio State is 18-5-1 against the Big 12. The match-up is the first that both schools have scheduled for the 2022 and 2023 seasons.
“Playing a program like the University of Texas always creates remarkable experiences for our players and fans,” Ohio State Director of Athletics Gene Smith said. “Our last series with the Longhorns contributed to the great history and tradition that Buckeye Nation enjoys.”
