I remember watching Michigan St on TV against Boise State early in the season, and they showed Maxwell, and I was like "meh", then they showed his fat, dumpy parents sitting in the stands and I thought "oh boy, Michigan State is in trouble this year if this is the gene pool of their QB".

So the Falcons were the beneficiaries of 10 net penalties, 5 turnovers, and still almost lost the game.Comment

Senser, are you advocating the benching of Vick yet? Or just let them work their way through the season and then find some way to move him in the off-season? It also doesn't seem like Reid is going anywhere (I do think he is overrated and is almost to the point of Jeff Fisher, where it's time to move on) so it is possible moving Vick doesn't happen. We all know how stubborn Reid is, and is likely to be even more stubborn now that he won the power struggle with Joe Banner.Comment

I wasn't convinced that the Texans were as good as their 5-0 record going into the game last night, however, I didn't think the Packers were going to go into Houston and dismantle their defense either. Green looked good carrying the ball...running hard and making one step cuts. It seemed that the only running play getting called was that half draw/half trap play and the Texans started to shut it down in the 2nd half as they stacked 8 in the box to keep the Packers from burning up the clock. Rodgers was throwing the ball as good as he ever has last night and I think some of his throws were the kind that just beat good coverage.
Got to hear Mark Murphy speak at the Packers pep rally on Saturday evening and he said he felt that the Packers were only 2 bad halves of football away from being 4-1 and that fans should not panic. That certainly seemed to be the case last night. By the beginning of the 4th quarter the only people left in the stadium seemed to be Packers fans....there was no home crowd to drown out the "Go Pack Go" chants.Comment

That is a good point. However, consider that his four year deal was up following the 2010 season, and he signed a one year, $12.75 extension when they traded McNabb, which was supposed to last through 2012. Yes, Michael Vick happened, but Kolb still would have hit the FA market with as much buzz as Matt Flynn did, and possibly up to as much buzz as Drew Brees did when he left San Diego. There is no guarantee that he would even have received the franchise tag instead of Desean Jackson.Comment

Yeah, this way we get to watch a bunch of shitty teams get in their own way until the playoffs when some team "gets hot" and farts out a SB win. Parity rules.Comment

Packers defense plays well when they get pressure, and they did a better job of that against the Texans. Against Indy they backed off the pressure in the 2nd half and Luck went ape shit. Our corners tend to give up yardage, so the more pressure they get on the quarterback, the better.
One of the biggest differences I noticed, though, was the lack of drops. The Packers receivers didn't play like a bunch of middle school girls out there. The corners didn't drop 50 interceptions attempts either. All in all, it was a good, clean effort for the Packers, not the shit they took in Indy last week.
