Can someone explain to me how Texas is still ranked in the BCS? One, they are terrible. Two, they almost lost to Kansas.
SEC is hard to figure. Georgia gives up 51 to Tennessee, yet Florida can't do a thing against the Bulldog defense. The game was pretty ridiculous...I think at one point Murray had 4 completions and 3 INTs, while the Florida QB had 1 completion and 2 INTs. I was surprised that Florida lost at home. Tennessee could have easily beaten South Carolina but they turned the ball over at the end. I guess it looks like Bama vs. UGA in the SEC title game, but Mark Richt usually has a letdown game at some point.
Oregon might be hurt by the PAC12's parity. USC could have 4 losses when all is said and done. Oregon State lost once, and could lose again this week to ASU. No one really stands out as a major win for Oregon.
I don't know why Oklahoma was such a big favorite against ND. They aren't very good, and the only physical team they played all year (KSU) stomped them.Comment

If you don't have a dog in the fight, how can you not be pulling for Bill Snyder to win the national champioship?Comment

UGA already had our letdown in the South Carolina game... And our defense could have been playing that way the whole season. Some players didn't seem like they wanted to be out there. And the game was a neutral site. We were actually the home team this year...

IU has a chance to go to a bowl game.
The way they've been playing, Iowa, Purdue, and Penn State are all winnable games. Wisconsin will probably not be even close, but if they have one of their bad days, that game could be we winnable too.

Hardcore college question: what happened to Southern Miss? They used to be a tough mid-level team that no one wanted to play. They've been terrible this year (although they are favored this weekend against UAB in possibly the worst game of the NCAA season). Did they get bad all of the sudden? Do they have a new coach?Comment

Larry Fedora coached them to four straight bowl games, but left before this season to take over UNC. His replacement was Ellis Johnson, who was a respectable DC at USCe and Mississippi State, but had a terrible track record as head coach (17-28 with Citadel and Gardner-Webb). Promptly, the Golden Eagles have their worst start to a season since the 70s.Comment
