The bad and shorthanded Tampa Bay Buccaneers secondary could soon be more shorthanded than it’s been and potentially worse.
Missing cornerback Aqib Talib as he serves a four-game suspension for violation of the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs, the Bucs now stand to be without fellow cornerback Eric Wright for four games as he is also in line for a four-game suspension for the same reason, according to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports.
Talib was sent away for four games for testing positive for the drug Adderall. According to Glazer, the same drug, which is typically prescribed to treat patients with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, is responsible for Wright’s positive test.
Roy Cummings of the Tampa Tribune says no one with the organization is saying anything. The Bucs are ranked 31st against the pass and are allowing 309.6 yards per game.
Players are believed to use the drug to focus and concentrate for long periods. It’s also considered by some to be a party drug.
