    Cancel/postpone/move PIT @ NYG?

Millions still without power in NJ, yet somehow they're going to light up MetLife Stadium for 6 hours on Sunday night.

Why not play the game in Pittsburgh? Saints played a "home" game, ironically against the Giants at NY, after Katrina. Seven home games, big deal. Every year somebody plays seven home games due to the London game.

NYC Marathon finally cancelled, Nets home opener was cancelled.

Should the NFL move or postpone this game?

Move it for sure. The schedule is too unforgiving to reschedule a football game.

Also the NY/DC legs in the MLS playoffs were swapped because of lacking power in Harrison, NJ. (inb4 footie jokes)

The NFL is the only one that's pushing ahead.

      I see it two ways.

      1) Provides something for the people suffering right now, a distraction...but then again, without power its hard to watch.

      2) Move the fucking game, there's more important shit going on in NY state right now. However, that's a very difficult thing to do. Playing in Pit would work, but getting everything required in order would be a massive task. TV crews, staff, blah blah blah. Not easy.

Mass transit still largely shut down, nobody has gas, people 5-10 miles away still have no power.

How can the NFL justify lighting up that stadium?

Yeah, logistically they would pretty much have to act right now for a move to Pittsburgh to work.

I completely agree with you Warner. This is a slap in the face to the struggling NY/NJ residents without power or homes for that matter.

At the very least put it in a neutral site

Gov. Christie just said the game will not divert any police, EMS, firemen, etc from their work concerning the recovery. So that's that I guess, hard to believe, but I'll trust the man.

To me it's kind of insulting to light up the stadium.

And I guess the marathon isn't officially cancelled yet. People saying it is on twitter, but no official word.

Have they used the "sports eases the pain" and is a necessary distraction narrative yet?

Listening to Christie now, he's saying its Goodell's call, he was asked if the game would deplete EMS etc and told Goodell it wont.

He went on to say that if the NFL wants to play its game under these conditions, thats up to them and he wont stop them. Not a ringing endorsement by any means.

Nothing to do with NYers. Its about corporate pressure so they dont lose money. Nothing more nothing less.
