Seahawks Corners Sherman & Browner Facing 4-Game Suspensions

Seattle Seahawks starting cornerbacks Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner are facing four-game suspensions for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drug policy, according to league sources.

Seattle Seahawks starting cornerbacks Richard Sherman and Brandon Browner are facing four-game suspensions for violating the NFL's performance-enhancing drug policy, according to league sources.

Both Sherman and Browner tested positive and are appealing their suspensions, insisting they are innocent, according to sources. The appeal could be heard as early as this week.

The absence of both Sherman and Browner would be a huge blow to the Seahawks (6-5), who dropped a 24-21 decision Sunday to the Miami Dolphins but still are competing for a playoff spot in the NFC.

If the suspensions are upheld, Seattle would have to lean on veteran Marcus Trufant to replace Sherman at left cornerback, and Walter Thurmond to replace Browner at right cornerback.

Ironically, Seattle is locked in a race with Tampa Bay (6-5) for an NFC wild-card spot. The Buccaneers have had two starting cornerbacks (Eric Wright and Aqib Talib, who later was traded to New England) suspended for four games for using Adderall.

The 6-foot-3 Sherman leads the Seahawks with four interceptions this season while the 6-4 Browner, a Pro Bowler in 2011, has three interceptions.

The substance for which they were popped is unclear, but their agents claim it's Adderall.

Would be interesting to see if it's Adderall. But in any case, how can these guys be that stupid? You know the NFL is testing for these things, it's just not a smart decision.

If it can help them focus better, then it's a performance-enhancing drug. I don't get it either, but there are at least four cornerbacks who think it helps them.

My favorite moment this year was definitely seeing the Seahawks win the Superbowl in week 6.

All the other 5 teams in the hunt for the last NFC WC spot are licking their chops.

Remember when Richard Sherman held Tom Brady to a mere 395 yards passing? Well, this past weekend Sherman topped that by holding Ryan Tannehill to 253 yards.

                  He will be missed.

Talib, bum ass Eric Wright, Joe Haden, Browner, Sherman, Will Hill....... All of these DBs got knocked for using this shit. Andre Brown got off because he has a prescription for it. Unless he has ADD or something along those lines in what case would the league deem it ok for someone to use? Its so weak to get suspended for adderall of all things.

It's a Schedule II controlled substance. Possession without a prescription is indeed, illegal. It's classified in the same category as Oxycodone and Morphine.

Yes, because Sherman plays all 11 spots on the field.

You guys know whenever a player's agent says it's adderrall it's not official, right? League won't confirm or deny what the substance was, so of course the player will blame it on something considered relatively benign to avoid the steroids stigma.

Clearly it's working if you mufuckas think all of these guys got popped for using the same thing.

One, they have to have a prescription for it. Two, they have to go through league channels to get it approved to be used. They were talking about it on the Sirius NFL channel, and I believe the team doctor and league have to approve it, and then the team doctor will prescribe it.
