McClain says he is no longer a Raider

Raiders MLB Rolando McClain reportedly wrote on his Facebook page that he is no longer a Raider.

The eighth overall pick of the 2010 draft, McClain was held out of practice for a “team-related issue.” The Raiders have not announced that McClain has been released. He cannot technically be waived until Thursday.

According to reports, McClain wrote, “Officially no longer an Oakland Raider!!” and “I’d like to be anywhere besides here.”

In 11 games and nine starts this season McClain has 60 tackles, one sack and one forced fumble. Earlier this month, misdemeanor assault and firearms charges against McClain were dropped. McClain was arrested for allegedly holding a gun beside a man’s head.

McClain’s agent, Pat Dye, told USA Today’s Mike Garafolo that he has not been "notified of any change in (McClain’s) status" ith the club.

Why not just wait until the off-season and at least get some kind of draft pick for him.

If they released him now then I doubt he has any trade value as it is. He doesn't even play in the nickel defense anymore and I believe he's set to earn 4 million next year?

He sucks and is a moron on top of it. I thought he was going to be the next Patrick Willis coming out of college and he is just a slow, lazy, fat piece of shit.

I wouldn't be surprised if a change of scenery helped him, but he just half assed it in Oakland or just sucks.

Usually you hear about a recent 1st rounder and expect it to be someone good - or at least a lot of upside. But then you see it's the Raiders who made that top 10 pick and you just move on.
