North Carolina sophomore tailback Giovani Bernard, the nation's top punt returner, will forego his final two years of college eligibility and enter the 2013 NFL Draft, the school announced on Friday.
West Virginia's Tavon Austin, who made 110 catches this season and scored touchdowns as a receiver, runner, punt returner and kick returner, has accepted a Senior Bowl invite. (Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports)
West Virginia receiver Tavon Austin, who finished eighth in this year's Heisman voting and was an AP All-American, has agreed to play in the Senior Bowl on Jan. 26 in Mobile, Ala., a source confirmed.
Mountaineers quarterback Geno Smith is considering an offer to join Austin at the game, which concludes a week of workouts in front of NFL scouts.
No other WVU seniors have been invited, the source said, though the game's roster won't be finalized until after the bowls.
Austin's 110 catches rank No. 2 nationally behind USC sophomore Marqise Lee. His 230 all-purpose yards per game stand No. 2 behind Western Kentucky's Antonio Andrews.

Rutgers senior TE D.C. Jefferson will attend the East-West Shrine Game.
Jefferson is likely draftable on his frame alone, but the senior could really improve his evaluation with a consistent week. He only recorded 18 receptions for 155 yards and a touchdown, most of which occurred in the red zone, but Jefferson's blend of height and athletic ability is intriguing.
West Virginia coach Dana Holgorsen announced Monday that WR Stedman Bailey will forego his senior season and enter the 2013 NFL Draft.
West Virginia QB Geno Smith's high school teammate, Bailey racked up 106 catches for 1,501 yards and 23 touchdowns in a prolific junior season. Although Bailey is listed at just 5-foot-10, 188, his playing style more closely resembles that of a "pro-style" perimeter receiver than explosive Mountaineers slot man Tavon Austin. Austin and Bailey will both almost certainly be top-100 draft picks in April. Austin, a 5-foot-9, 174-pound senior, finished the 2012 regular season with a receiving stat line of 110-1,259-12.
Earl Wolf, S, North Carolina State
Rashard Hall, S, Clemson
Kejuan Riley, S, Alabama State
Zeke Motta, S, Notre Dame
Cooper Taylor, S, Richmond
Brandon Bishop, S, North Carolina State
Illinois junior DT Akeem Spence will forgo his final season of eligibility and enter April's NFL Draft.
Spence is expected to make his announcement on Friday. The junior entered the 2012 season highly thought of due to powerful hands and enough foot quickness to make plays in the backfield, but too often he failed to make an impact in games. The entire Illini defense struggled this season despite plenty of individual talent. We expect a second day selection for Spence, but an early third day pick is not out of the question if terms are concerned about his effort this season.

SI's Tony Pauline cites sources telling him that Tennessee junior QB Tyler Bray will enter April's draft, and his off field issues will "raise several red flags."
Pauline also states that the consensus around the NFL is that Bray would be better off returning to school. The junior was accused of throwing beer bottles at parked cars this summer, along with admitting to lazy habits and a lackadaisical personality. He has arm talent, but Bray has not shown progress in terms of ball security and footwork.

After talking with junior Cordarrelle Patterson, new Tennessee head coach Butch Jones believes the WR is "definitely going to the NFL."
"He's a special player with a great skill set," Jones said. "I wish him well." The head coach stated he has had discussions with every junior considering making the jump to the NFL. Nothing is official until the player's signature hits the paper, but expect Patterson to be among the draft-eligible players in April.

South Carolina S D.J. Swearinger will attend the Senior Bowl.
A favorite of ours, Swearinger is a solid safety moving towards the line of scrimmage or in coverage in the deep half of the field. The Gamecock is not currently garnering top two round attention, but we think Swearinger will be among the risers during the process and a possible top-64 pick.
Tyler Bray intrigues me. He has all the tools and ability to be a successful NFL QB but has never really been able to put it all together. I think he ends up at the top of that 2nd tier of Quarterbacks after Barkley, Smith, and Wilson.
Also say what you want about Tennessee but they have THREE wide recievers leaving early for the NFL(yes I'm counting Da'Rick Rogers). That's a wealth of talent right there.
SI's Tony Pauline is hearing that Cal junior DE DeAndre Coleman will enter the NFL Draft.
Coleman is a very well built lineman that started the majority of the season at defensive end. Pauline says the Bear will "likely go much earlier than currently projected." We feel the same since he likely projects to five technique in a three man front, a position that usually lacks draftable prospects.

Arkansas junior G Alvin Bailey will enter April's NFL Draft.
Bailey is a longtime starter for the Razorbacks and has experience on both the right and left side due to Arkansas' tendency to flip their offensive linemen in different formations. His best asset is his power, but Bailey needs to show up in shape and keep his body in good form throughout the process. The entire Arkansas offensive line struggled for most of the season.
