Florida junior S Matt Elam announced that he will enter the 2013 NFL Draft.
Although Elam didn't come up with a big play against Louisville, his presence was felt as usual with hard hits followed up with some trash talk. At times, Elam looks like a very aggressive safety, closing with speed to make plays at the line. The same can be said for his coverage skills, but there are other instances where he looks disinterested. Still, the Gator could be the first safety off the board in April.

Florida junior DT Sharrif Floyd announced after Wednesday's game that he will forgo his final season of eligibility and declare for April's Draft.
Floyd was the Gators best player in the losing effort, but the interior defensive lineman generated consistent pressure with a strong upper body or quick feet. The junior is built perfectly for the three technique defensive tackle spot, but has film at defensive end from his sophomore year. That exposure will be appreciated by evaluators as it will allow a minimal amount of guess work.

Michigan State junior RB Le'Veon Bell told head coach Mark Dantonio that he is declaring for April's Draft during a meeting on Wednesday.
"He's all in," Bell's mentor Donis Toler said, and added that the running back has an agent. "Upset's not a good word to use, but he (Dantonio) was taken aback a little bit. He thought he had a good chance of Le'Veon coming back." Bell is going to be a polarizing prospect and could go as high as the second-round or slide into the third day.

Former NFL scout Russ Lande tweeted that Michigan State junior DE Williams Gholston is now likely to enter the 2013 NFL Draft.
Lande added that Gholston appeared ready to return for his senior year all season long, but the large defensive end much have had a change of heart. Due to his size and length, Gholston projects as a possible end in a three man defensive line, a position that is usually selected earlier than expected.

ESPN's Joe Schad reports that Florida State junior DE Bjoern Werner will enter the 2013 NFL Draft.
This is no surprise as Werner is one of the top pass rushers in a strong class. He lacks a great motor to chase down plays from the back side, but Werner has a nice jump off the line and uses his hands to create separation. A top-20 selection is likely.

Sounds like LSU MLB Kevin Minter is gone.

ESPN's Joe Schad reports that LSU junior ILB Kevin minter will declare for April's Draft.

We noted a report earlier that stated LSU coaches were "fighting hard" to keep Minter in college for one more season because of his leadership skills, but we don't blame Minter for jumping to the NFL. Along with his consistency in the middle, Minter lays the wood against the run and is capable in coverage.
Syracuse senior LT Justin Pugh will be a part of the 2013 NFL Draft after deciding against attempting to gain an extra year of eligibility.

This isn't a real surprise, since Pugh has been listed as a senior all season and treated as such. He possesses an ideal left tackle frame and has the footwork to stick at the position, but Pugh will need to clear his medicals after missing the early parts of the season after shoulder surgery.

CBS Sports' Jeremy Fowler reports that Georgia junior OLB Jarvis Jones will declare for April's Draft.
This is no surprise, as Jones is one of the higher profile names in college football. Many will point to Jones' spinal stenosis as a potential drawback, and although he will need to pass medicals, we think his lack of length and counter move may end up being more detrimental. His speed around the edge is undeniable, and it is the reason we compare him to Bruce Irvin rather than the common Von Miller projection you will continue to read.

LSU announced that junior S Eric Reid is declaring for the 2013 NFL Draft.
Reid has all the tools to thrive at the safety position, but the occasional missed tackle or mistake in coverage could make some team's cautious. Still, the well built junior will impress at the Combine and could be selected in the first-round.

Was hoping Reid would come back for another year since he had a pretty "meh" season, but he is a special talent. Gonna miss him.

LSU junior CB Tharold Simon announced that he will enter the 2013 NFL Draft.
Simon saw Morris Claiborne and Patrick Peterson enter the Draft early and be top-10 picks, but we highly doubt the junior will be selected as high. In fact, Simon may not be among the first five cornerbacks selected due to projected development, but he does have talent and length for the position.

Still waiting to hear from Mingo and Montgomery, but by my count, including them, that's 7 defensive starters. Not to mention punter Brad Wing.

It is ok. UGA is losing 9 defensive starters... Both DE, DT, 1 OLB, 1 MLB, 2 CB, and both safeties. Off a defense that wasn't even as good as they should of been.
