I think these folks already had some money, but I could be wrong. Both Belcher and Perkins were college graduates. Could have been student loans for her I guess but that's usually an indicator that $50-100k isn't gonna make people go nuts trying to steal this kid.
I know tons of college graduates that are poor as hell. Having an expensive receipt from a school doesn't mean you're set for life anymore

If the Deadspin article is to believed, a friend of Belcher's claims she was only working a couple of 4-hour retail shifts and had quit the job, which annoyed Belcher. Doesn't sound like she was much an earner.

Yep. That is a lot of money, and it is coming so regularly that people won't forget about it for more than a couple weeks at a time.

»Until she's 18 or 23 (depending on if she goes to college), she'll receive $52,000 per year.
Must be some of that good union insurance. Most insurance policies don't pay any benefits in the case of suicide.
