      Why?

I don't understand why BOB should win because he won 1 less game in a shitty conference than the year before and get bonus points because PSU were corrupt assholes.

Shouldn't they wait until after ND gets spanked by Alabama?

This isn't the year that O'Brien showed anything. His team was relatively talented in a weak conference and the sanctions haven't hit yet. If he wins 7-9 games in the next couple years, that would be very impressive.

I can't argue with the choice but I personally would have gone with Bill Snyder

He lost like 15 players and turned the season around after they played turrible their first few games. Would have easy for those guys to give up but BOB kept them in it.

This. I don't get worked up with COTY awards though, more often than not there's a handful of deserving guys and you just pick one and say congrats. Kelly obviously did a fine coaching jerb this season.

When Kelly went to ND I thought he'd bring them to national relevance again, because he is a really good coach. Congrats to him.

BOB performed minor miracles with that team.

I have no issues with Kelly, BOB, or Bill Snyder winning.

Throw in Kevin Sumlin. A&M was a middling Big 12 team with a freshmen QB in jail, and he nearly went to a BCS bowl with players he didn't recruit in the SEC.

                        Stop.

Good call on the Sumlin nod though.

BOB lost 20% of his roster, had no kickers, and was starting people at HB who would have been 4th string RB's and backup FB's had the program not collapsed. Plus his turnaround of the QB has to be commended.

That thing could have gone off the rails badly, especially after the 0-2 start. With all the obstacles, he kept those kids motivated and they had a great season when they had no business doing so.

He had the guts to take an impossible job, and while i'm not sure if it will be at Penn St, he will be a big time coach in the championship mix at some point.
