Coaching decision- what would you do?

Redskins/Ravens game in the fourth quarter, and the Ravens went up 27-20 with less than five minutes left on the clock.

Ravens coach John Harbaugh elects to kick the extra point to make the game 28-20, despite RGIII being a dangerous QB and having led some great drives late in the fourth quarter.

In my mind, this somewhat gifted the game to the Redskins, because the Ravens lose nothing by attempting a two point conversion. If they don't convert, the game is still 27-20, and a team that is in a tough playoff fight is not going to risk the two point play and a loss. If they convert, it's likely game over as it is now a two-score game.

What would you have done in that situation?

Kick the extra point and force the Redskins to not only score a touchdown, but make a two-point conversion. Just like they did.

Ravens defense had shut down the Redskins offense basically the entire second half to that point & while I think Harbaugh has many times shown a lack of a killer instinct or made questionable decisions in times like these, I don't think this is one of those times. If it was still a shootout at that point, maybe. But after the Skins first couple of drives, they really didn't do much until the last drive.

there is no way you go for 2. you have to rely on your defense to either stop them from scoring or prevent them from converting the 2. neither of those things happened and the game ended up being tied. the real let down for the ravens was the punt return they gave up. had that not happened the raven probably would have kept kirk cousins in check.

he made 1 great pass and then burned the ravens with a great call for the 2 pointer...but they took all the pressure off him by giving up that return in OT

Ask postgame Super Bowl XXXVIII loser John Fox. He knows what he should've done. Kick the XP.

You have to play the averages. Go for the XP and put the pressure on the Redskins to get a TD and a 2 point conversion.

Go for 2. Go up 29-20. Surprise onside. Playaction bomb on 1st down. Score TD. 35-20. Fake XP play. Score 2pt conversion. Now you are up by 3 scores, 37-20. Game over.
