    Adrian Peterson

Yeah this is a homer thread, but I don't care.

I think in almost any other year he'd be a front runner for the MVP, however he'll probably at best finish 3rd in voting behind Manning and Brady. But with Ponder looking like shit and having had 3 games of under 100 passing this year. Not to mention one game going almost the whole game without completing a pass to WR, Peterson has shown just how important he is to the Vikings record. Without him the Vikings are once again looking at a dismal single win season. I don't have any proof to back this up, but I doubt there are many times in the history of the NFL that a RB gains over 200 yards and their team still lost.

The other award he will be on the outside looking in will be the Comeback Player award as that will be awarded to Manning. Not saying he isn't deserving cause he truly is. There is no doubt Manning being out for a whole year and having one the best years of his already amazing career is nothing short of impressive. It is just as impressive however the season Peterson is having less than a year after his knee surgery. Knee surgeries on RB's can destroy a career, instead Peterson looks as if he is almost better than before the injury.

He's got an outside shot of 2000 yards, needing to avg 133 a game to get there, but he's avg 157 in his last 7 games, and with the way Ponder is playing I don't think he's going to see less carries as the Vikings try and win out to hopefully sneak into the playoffs. If he reaches 2000 and the Vikings make the playoffs, it might be the only chance he's got a chance of wining either award.

I'm not going to be upset should he not win anything, I am happy getting to watch the best RB in the league, and there is no argument about that either.

To me, Peterson is a better MVP than Manning because he's putting up huge numbers despite having Ponder as his QB and defenses stacking 8 in the box. Could Manning be as effective with Ponder at QB? I think not.

It's incredible he's doing this less than a year removed from an ACL tear.

I drafted Demarco Murray with the 12th pick in my league while AP was still on the board

Exactly. AP should be the MVP over Manning but the voters sure love themselves some Peyton.

AP won't win because there is a good chance that his team won't make the playoffs. I think that was the main thing against Chris Johnson winning MVP the year he ran for 2k.

I think it's also the whole QB thing as well. They always get to much credit or blame when it comes to teams records. Manning has Denver looking like a potential Superbowl winner, where Peterson and the Vikings will find themselves at home come the playoffs. They don't own a tiebreaker over anyone for them should they win out and end up tied at the end of the season, and I doubt they beat the Texans in Houston, let alone the Packers at home in the dome.

But it's not like Denver wasn't a playoff team last year, so you knew there was talent there. But as is usual with the MVP a QB from a team with one of the best records will win it.

Glad I'm not alone in thinking the Peterson is deserving of the MVP this year.

Dude has been been the best RB in the NFL for a while. I tried to tell people this the year CJ2K broke out. Stats are nice, but you can see by watching the games that the guy is on another level. HE RUNS ANGRY.

Uhh.... no? Beason's been on IR for most of the season. And he's been an afterthought with how well Kuechly is playing.(Leading the nfl in tackles as a rookie)
