Cowboys coach Jason Garrett told DallasCowboys.com Monday that Dez Bryant (finger) is "50:50" to play again this season.

Despite previous reports, Cowboys.com writer Nick Eatman says his "gut" is Bryant will not be placed on injured reserve, but the team won't know for sure until results come back from Dez's visit to a hand specialist. Eatman does concede that Dez "could be out of the rest of the season," if the hand specialist determines Bryant needs year-ending surgery to repair the torn finger ligaments. Garrett will speak to reporters later today.

Pleae be out for the year. The Redskins secondary is bad enough. Without him we can just go for broke covering Miles Austin

This is usually the time a small name WR steps up for us. My money is on Coale but I could see it being Harris.

Definitely hurts me in one of my leagues as I head into the playoffs. I had already lost Gronkowski and Percy Harvin...now Dez Bryant the week before the playoffs start...FML

Sucks for you. I lost Gronk but I have Gresham to back him up, he is no Gronk but not a total bumfuck. Other than that I have been pretty lucky as far as injurys go but Im also deep at most positions. I routinely have 70-90+ on my bench week in and week out.

Agreed, but this is going to hurt my work league, which I was almost assured of winning with Bryant in my lineup. Now I've got to rely on my bench receivers. Though Redskins in the playoffs trumps fantasy anytime.

Dez Bryant tells Scout.com that "they'd have to break my leg to keep me out" of Sunday's game versus the Steelers.

"It would take more than this to take me out," Bryant said. "No way. Scout.com's Mike Fisher got the sense that Dez was "angry" at the initial determination that doctors wouldn't clear him to play. The Cowboys have said that the decision is Bryant's. He certainly sounds like he's going to splint up the finger and play.

It depends on if the doctors say there can be permanent damage if it gets injured further or not.

If there can be, he is likely done. If he can't hurt it anymore, look for him to play through it.

I'm no doctor, but Kobe Bryant had ligament damage to some fingers several years ago, but he played through it.
