Tim Tebow 'a virtual certainty' To Land With Jaguars

    Rotoworld

ESPN's Chris Mortensen reported Saturday that it’s "a virtual certainty" Tim Tebow will play for the Jaguars in 2013.

After trying to trade for him in the offseason, Mortensen says Jaguars owner Shad Khan still wants Tebow, and the expectation is that Jacksonvile will have an "open competition" at the quarterback position next year with Tebow, Blaine Gabbert, and Chad Henne. Multiple reports have confirmed that the Jets plan to part ways with Tebow after the season, but it's not clear if they'll attempt to trade him or give him his outright release. If Tebow has any chance to resurrect his career as a starting quarterback, it will be in Jacksonville. The Jets can release him with a "minimal" cap hit if they decide to grant him his walking papers.

He should complement Blaine Gabbert nicely.

Tebow will start, and it will be awesome.

Some much needed juice will be injected into the NFL next season.

Gabbert will beat him for the starting job.

I'm an atheist. I don't care about his religion either way. I'm not offended by it or drawn to it.

I like him because he's fun to watch and brings something unique to a very paint-by-numbers, homogeneous league. Last year's Denver team was a thrill ride after he took over.

Fun to watch? Did you only tune in for the fourth quarter? Because Tebow was dreadful to watch. Saying Tebow is fun and unique is like saying you enjoy Sun Drop.

He's fun to watch because he's different. Even when he's playing badly he's fascinating. I watched every Denver game w/Tebow start to finish that didn't conflict with a Rams game.

Plus, I find him easy to root for because of his personality. He's a guy you want to succeed. I spend far too much time rooting against assholes, so I enjoy the opportunity to root for a guy who comes off very genuine and likable.

He comes off as a fake to me. Seems like a guy that would get told to shut the fuck up in the locker room.

I would agree with you, but I think he's so fake he's genuine. I also think it's hard to tell a guy who is genuinely nice to shut the fuck up.

I have read many stories where teammates simply say Tebow is kinda dumb. He's not a fake, because he's too stupid to be a fake. Many might hate the media attention he gets, but few people think he's a fake.

Say Tebow is overrated, can't throw, won't be a long-term success at QB in the NFL, is covered more than any other pro athlete by our mainstream sports media to the point you wouldn't mind said mainstream sports media crash into the sun on their way to Jets camp, yada, yada yada.

But, that's what's fun about Tebow at the same time. The guy doesn't go out of his way and scream 'LOOK AT ME' to the media like some notable players in the past have. He doesn't go out of his way to push his religious beliefs on the masses, either.

I would like to see Tebow succeed again in the NFL because it means SO MANY people who think they're NFL experts would have to eat a bucket of crow.

Plus, if he does end up in Jacksonville, ANYTHING to make that franchise come alive would be awesome.

Also, if he can, it would be another slap to the face of that moron Woody Johnson.
